@japan_nobunaga There's nowhere better to go (yet) and it takes a lifetime to learn English well. So there's no point learning another language, especially since AI will do auto-translation.

@japan_nobunaga IMO the sweetest distinctly American accent for women is 'southern' and it's pretty rare these days. The Boston & New York accents are distinctive, also pretty rare. Then you have ebonics, which is a different language. Other than that, it's all blended together now.
English

@japan_nobunaga This is old news my man, since the Millennials grew up watching the same youtubers, they lost their regional sounds and mostly talk the same, which is how the silly vocal fry thing caught on so fast. The funniest thing is foreigners learning English from cartoons, don't do that.

If @elonmusk didn’t buy X, we wouldn’t know about the 250,000 white British girls who were raped by Pakistani Muslim gangs.

SRVpress is migrating from @nginx to FrankenPHP after 20 years of flawless performance, not because Caddy is better, but because Go is better than PHP-FPM.

witnessing most of my startup friends do the great migration from nyc back to sf after moving here in 2021.
5 years is enough to have experienced everything in nyc: clubs, restaurants, fashion, opera/concerts/theatre, networking.
extra years feel low roi esp if you love nature & the “scene” is irrelevant

@eliana_jordan Neither.
SaaS -> not very personalized or service oriented.
App -> ask Google/Apple to control your destiny.

@rocketshipalx Are you staying? The summers here are pretty brutal -- find a good lake or pool ;-)

My thoughts after 3 months in the US/Texas🇺🇸:
- Americans are way more extroverted than Europeans
- Talking to strangers is normal here
- My first H-E-B trip felt like Boris Yeltsin seeing an American grocery store
- Some food is more artificial, but the amount of choices is insane
- You can still eat healthy. You just have to choose it
- High risk, high reward is real
- Way more people are entrepreneurial
- People dream bigger than in Europe, and they actually execute
- Obv not everyone is smarter, but the smart people are world-class
- Successful people here are way more down-to-earth. In Europe, successful people care about status and can be arrogant
- Cars. Enough said
- Americans have perfected artificial sweets
- There’s still more freedom here than in Europe
- One thing I didn’t expect: some Americans talk down on America
- As an outsider, that’s weird, because imo it’s still the greatest country on Earth🇺🇸🇺🇸

Before you start chapter one, how do you prepare for your book?
Are you a plotter, mapping outlines and plot trees until you're working with a full skeleton of your story?
Or are you a pantser, going into your writing with core ideas and discovering as you write? #writinglife
