Conclusions 1. Intensivists' self-assessment of how well they implement shared decision-making communication guidelines may not reflect their colleague’s assessment. 2. Intensivists most commonly highlighted choices about code status and recommended continuing current care.

We also categorized the transcript text participants circled when asked if they highlighted a choice or made a recommendation. The most common choice involved code status, and the most common recommendation was to continue current care.
