This evening, on the fourth day of the ongoing retreat in Kyankwanzi, I addressed the newly elected NRM Members of Parliament on the budget priorities anchored in the NDP IV logic of full monetisation of our economy.
These include wealth creation through PDM and Emyooga, value addition in agriculture, tourism and minerals (including oil and gas), the knowledge economy and STI, strategic infrastructure such as the railways and EACOP, reducing the cost of credit, strengthening revenue generation, cost-effective social services, support to the creative industry and AFCON preparations, as well as investment in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area.
I am glad that the Members continue to benefit from presentations by experts from different disciplines as we build a shared understanding of these priorities.

This evening, I met the Members of Parliament-elect at the ongoing retreat in Kyankwanzi and listened to presentations by experts on personal financial management and wealth creation for leaders. We also discussed key national issues, including taxation and how to address them.
I encouraged the members to be ideologically clear and always weigh their actions against principles. Many of the challenges we see, such as conflicts, cheating and bribery, are a result of ideological underdevelopment.

This morning at NALI, Kyankwanzi, I lectured a delegation from the Egyptian Armed Forces Staff and Command College on a number of issues, including the Nile Basin question.
I told them that the real challenge of the Nile is not the old colonial agreements but underdevelopment in the tropics, especially the lack of electricity, limited industrialisation and the effects of climate change. The solution is electrification and industrialisation so that we protect the environment and sustainably manage our water resources.
I also shared the historical missions that have guided us: rejecting identity-based politics in favour of nationalism and Pan-Africanism, driving socio-economic transformation and advancing African unity. I was pleased that they visited the Source of the Nile in Jinja and appreciated the beauty of our country. I welcome them to Uganda and wish them a productive stay.

I hosted H.E Vladlen Semivolos, the outgoing Russian ambassador to Uganda, at State House Entebbe today. I congratulated him on completing his tour of duty and praised his efforts in ensuring the continued warmth and cooperation between our countries and peoples. I wish him success in his future endeavors.
Later, H.E Virginie Leroy, the French Ambassador to Uganda called on me to deliver a message and an invitation from H.E Emmanuel Macron for the upcoming France - Africa summit in Nairobi next month, with Uganda participating.
I also met H.E Lisa Chesney, the British High Commissioner, to discuss economic opportunities between Uganda and the UK, and various export financing projects. We aim to expand collaboration on business and growth.

You guys are taking this out of context for sure! He's simply talking about a specific group of Somalis who didn't want the Ugandan army/AMISOM in Somalia. Reason this is a video from over ten years ago.
Otherwise, for all the many bad things one can say about Museveni, you can't say he hates the Somali! Never! He's probably one of the main reason there are thousands of Somalis peacefully living normal lives in Uganda today, attending universities, getting citizenship etc. Many indigenous Ugandans wouldn't want that.
English

Yoweri Museveni made specific reference to the Somali community in Uganda has said, When we went to Somalia, the Somali community in Uganda called us “kafir.”(disbeliever) He responded by saying, “Yes, we are kafir, but this is our land. If you do not want to live in this Christian land, then go to Pakistan. This is our land, and if you bring trouble, we will deal with you. If you are looking for an Islamic country, go to Islamic country.

@HEBobiwine Do you have the evidence that he was abducted, or you just talk with bias??
English

Mr. Arnold Mukose, a journalist with the Alternative Digitalk media, was abducted two days ago after concluding a talkshow. Yesterday, the military also attempted to abduct Digitalk's proprietor, Norman Tumuhimbise, when they raided his home. The whereabouts of Arnold, and the justification for these actions, are currently unknown. We demand that the regime respect Arnold's rights by either setting him free or allowing him the due process of law if he committed any crime. The persecution of citizens because of their opinions MUST STOP!

@Smith_JeffreyT @UGIndependent So what's your problem, and how can we help you??

A Ugandan government aircraft used for VIP travel has landed in the United States, with no official explanation for the trip.
The aircraft, registered as 5X-UGF, is a Gulfstream G550 operated by the Government of Uganda and used for official state travel, including the transport of President @KagutaMuseveni.
Flight tracking data from @flightaware (RAU2) : flightaware.com/live/flight/RA… indicates the aircraft transited through Cape Verde before arriving in Savannah, Georgia where it has remained on the ground for over 23 hours as of this publication.
Ugandan authorities have not publicly stated the purpose of the visit.
Presidential jets are not routine transport. Their use is comparable in significance to Air Force One in the United States, generally associated with the movement of the head of state or matters of national security. Long-distance deployments of such aircraft typically signal travel of sensitivity or high security levels.
The lack of official information has fueled public interest and online discussion about the timing of the aircraft’s arrival in the United States, including unverified claims about the health of First Lady @JanetMuseveni.
The purpose of the aircraft’s presence in the United States remains unclear.

@Smith_JeffreyT @CdeLENIN Uganda has played a key role in regional peacekeeping efforts, especially through missions like African Union Mission in Somalia, demonstrating its commitment not only to national security but also to regional stability.

The steady improvements in infrastructure, intelligence coordination, and community policing have also contributed to reducing crime and enhancing public safety. Today, many Ugandans can go about their daily lives, invest, and do business in a peaceful environment, something that was not always guaranteed in the past.
