Had the pleasure of interviewing @JeremykCPR . Jeremy founded the first cell phone repair (CPR) franchise in 2004 and is widely considered the “God Father of the Cell Phone Repair industry”. Jeremy sold his ownership stake in the Cell Phone Repair business in 2013, but stayed on in a consulting capacity. In 2019, the Cell Phone Repair franchise with over 700 locations worldwide was sold to Assurant - a 10+ billion dollar publicly traded company.

@SenatorTimScott DEFI yeild should be preserved at all cost... if you strip away the incentives of running decentralized yeild baring smart contracts you break the modern incentive mechanism that makes the magic happen. Choosing the traditional banking industry over decentralized finance is like trying to ban email while forcing individuals to use paper mail. During the 1400s the Ottomon Empire essentially banned the printing press and didnt reintroduce it until the 1700s - this caused massive economic damage and ultimately led to Europe gaining the upper hand. DEFI protocols inherently cannot be stopped... so do we really want the worldest greatest cryptographers taking their genius to Dubai, Switzerland, UK, El Salvador, Vietnam and/or China?

Say goodbye to Uniswap as you know it. The Senate's new CLARITY Act is a direct hit on DeFi, engineered to protect the banks. They are outright banning passive stablecoin yield. Banks are terrified lawmakers with projections of a $6.6 trillion deposit flight to crypto, so Washington stepped in to kill your yield and protect the legacy system. Even worse, the bill aims to classify anyone running a DeFi front-end as a financial intermediary. Just hosting a web interface for a smart contract will suddenly require bank-level AML compliance and audits. They are rushing to force this through by May before the midterm elections make the bill politically radioactive. But there is a massive blind spot in their plan. They can regulate web domains and target companies, but they cannot ban math. Decentralized smart contracts live on-chain. Real developers will keep building the permissionless solutions the market demands, and DeFi will simply route around the damage.

@AOC True, but decentralized gambling platforms have many many pros that centralized gambling companies dont have. Also gambling on sports matches is a lot different from prediction markets related to world events, politics, weather, etc.

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.
