Describing one’s self as an “____enjoyer,” (politics enjoyer, Michigan enjoyer, etc.) has reached max saturation. The term is already beginning to sound cringe, and I suspect in no less than five years will have same cringe-level as “Coffee FTW!” or “epic bacon.”

Actually, Long Island is legally a peninsula. The Supreme Court said so. See U.S. v. Maine 469 U.S. 504 (1985).

I'm a big fan of the idea that once you hit a billion dollars, you get a plaque in a park saying that you won at capitalism and everything you make over a billion is taxed at 100%

Union Pacific obviously can do whatever they want with their trains, but I as free citizen can also say I find it distasteful and remonstrate with them. They also could legally make their train say "America is a Horrible Country" and I would have the same response of finding it weird and objectionable. But more importantly, this train is purportedly to celebrate America's 250th but take a look at the design. It's obviously much more about Trump than some general celebration of our country, there is no 250 logo or anything, just Trump's Name and "4547." I feel like we can both admit that if Biden won the election, and American Airlines had a plane for America's 250 that said "President Joe Biden" across it, 95% of people in this thread would find it off putting and objectionable, no?

r/trains is crashing out over this unfathomably based train livery.

1.) when someone is out of power, there’s isn’t really a fear that a celebration/glorification of them is being done to curry favor of the US government, or being done by them to strengthen their control. 2.) it’s just not really the tradition of our country, with some exceptions of course. But would be weird to put current presidents on our currency, or to name ships after our current president etc etc. it seems like self dealing.
