Reform UK said I was 'bullying' when I pointed out their colleague was jailed for beating up his former partner. Now, they're trying to sneak him back into their party. So I'll say it again: James McMurdock was jailed for beating up his former partner. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

So your thesis is that a one minute exchange outside a nightclub where the 19 year old was working, an incident dealt with by the courts years ago, should blight this man for life? And yet Mandelson’s many transgressions actually in public life were not seen by your leader as blighting his prospects?

@bphillipsonMP Yes there are horrible people about. Your party is protecting Mandelson and child rapists from possibly the elite cabal and a certain demographic whose votes you need.Just grow up and try to get your sums right.

@anon_opin They don’t care about not vaping in places like pubs, gigs etc. what makes you think they’d care about £1? They can’t go more than 3 seconds without their strawberry ice cream hit.

We need to reintroduce reclaimable micro deposits. £1 say on a vape cartridge. Hand the cartridge in when used and get your pound back. Then watch the streets instantly clean themselves

@Freshs550 @nick_benson Do they hide the speed limit signs too? If not, it's not a "gotcha" – simply don't break the law, and you won't be charged.

@nick_benson It’s 100% a “gotcha” when you 1st lower speed limit to impractical Low 20-25 mph. Then hide the speed camera behind electrical post and in areas where driving 30-35 mph is extremely safe. You’re not fooling anyone , gtfo of ny go back to Ohio 🤡

Good. Speed cameras are placed based on safety data—and have reduced speeding 94% where installed. They’re not a “gotcha.” You have to go 11 MPH over the limit to get a violation. Officers can't be all places at all times, but cameras can consistently enforce the law where it matters most. silive.com/news/2026/03/s…

@nick_benson Be glad you get a 10 mph buffer. Seattle is 5 mph with fines starting above $200, so 26 mph can cost you bank. (They are timed at least.)

If you read the Guardian three years ago, you would have learnt from Britain's most famous rail historian that driverless cars on public roads would never work. If you read the FT yesterday, you would learn that Addison Lee believe that it will work so well that they will quickly kill the existing cab trade unless punitive regulation is introduced.

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

@OG_Advisors @gunmanbrett @jonburkeUK Cool. I don't really care what Jon said. I'm interested in how and why drilling additional north sea oil would help us though. If it's sold on the open market, I don't see how that materially helps our domestic supply or affordability?

That statement is correct, but sorry for being precise and coming back to the point we were actually making, which is that Jon stated that the oil and gas reserves were privatised in the 80s. They weren't - as our Tweet makes clear. It has always been (since 1934) that the oil and gas in the ground remains the property of the Crown but once won, is sold by private enterprise. That has never changed since inception in 1934. Facts matter, Tim.

Dear @OG_Advisors, Please advise if I was correct in stating that North Sea oil and gas extraction was privatised in 1982 and 1986, and that private companies own the oil and gas at the point of extraction? That is, we don’t “own” the oil and gas extracted. We just tax it.

@OG_Advisors @gunmanbrett @jonburkeUK So if they ask and the crown says "yes", then the oil is extracted, becomes the oil company's property, and gets sold on the open market? Do I have that right?

@gunmanbrett @jonburkeUK No, Brett, do keep up. Jon implied that it had changed with the privatisation if BP in the 80s. It hasn't. It has been the same since 1934, the extraction of the Crown-owned hydrocarbons was enshrined in law.

@brainmcmillan @SimonForrest11 Oxford admits about 40 students a year from Scotland, while the University of Edinburgh admits about 4000. So you're _probably_ talking out of your arse, by a factor of about 100.
