@caddietales Keep helping them at Sober House. Some will be lost, but most will end up better. And you tried for all.

A guy moved out of the Sober House abruptly this weekend, and in my opinion he wasn't nearly ready to do so. It reminds me again how life and the game so many of my followers love intersect. Let me explain... I'm tempted to feel like a failure for not being able to help this fella more. And it reminds me that in my past I too often let disappointment consume me to the point of despair. It led to so much unnecessary pain for me and others. In the same way, I see folks on the golf course day after day who let their frustrations spill over. Some throw things. Others sulk. But all of them miss out. All under the guise of being a perfectionist or passionate. Here's what I need to remember, and maybe you do too... There are a whole lot of guys at the Sober House who are doing well. They're taking their Next Shot and experiencing hope, healing, and growth. There are some tough moments like the one I described above, but there is also a whole lot of good. It's important not to miss out on the joy of these realities by getting blinded by the missed shots. In the same way, every round of golf is likely to have a number of good swings and positive results. It's never just all bad. There is a lot of good too. So why let the errant shots and shanks spoil the fun? It's so easy to let that happen. Instead, let's open our eyes and see past the pain. So yeah, sure, learn from the misses. But don't forget to celebrate the good either. And even on those days when the bad outweighs the good, remember that the one that keeps you coming back isn't far away. In golf, and in life! And one last thing... Sure, it's frustrating and sad to lose a guy from the house. And on a lesser scale, yes, it's annoying to lose a ball out on the course. But there is hope. Because every day I find a whole bunch of those lost balls on the course and take them home with me. Their "lostness" is temporary. They get found. And so, in the same way, I pray that someone else is going to encounter this young man on his journey and help him find his way again. Because there is always a Next Shot!

Question for the crew. I take a group of 16 guys to SC in late March. Everyone plays off of my index. I have a -3.1 that falls off next. Is it bad form to walk 9 holes tomorrow to get that off my GHIN? cc @YipStrickler

@LouStagner In stroke play, PAR DOES NOT MATTER It’s your total score vs the total score of players in the field Who cares about how long or short the hole is. If they told you it’s a Par 4, you wouldn’t be saying a word

A 301-yard par three? That’s just absurd. Sure, I understand they’re all playing the same course. But let’s be honest… it’s still ridiculous

Greens are still really soft… winner will most likely have to shoot under par today. Some great pins coming in 15, 18 especially… Good luck to my competitors as I enjoy a cold one

Final thoughts from PGA: -Disappointed to finish where I did but also happy to make the cut when I wasn’t feeling my best physically. Today I felt like I was able to swing it the way I wanted much more than the last two weeks which is a step in the right direction. -Greens are pretty firm and with the forecasted wind, it’ll be quite tricky for the leaders. There’s a good mix of funnel and tough pins out there. The easy holes are playing easier like 7,8. But hard holes like 17,18 are playing tougher. I don’t know if it was just my group but there was a slight northern wind that made 15,17,18 tougher by making it into the wind. 17 looks like a funnel pin but unless you hit the perfect shot, it’s going long. -Thomas Detry plays the entire round with one ball if he can. There’s not many of those guys on tour haha. -Need to figure out my putting. Will try a couple different things this upcoming week. -Had ice cream sandwich named Fat Boy for the first time and they were really good 9/10. 😂 -I’m prob a lock for US open so that’ll be exciting… I think. First time at Oakmont, heard it’s a super easy course haha. -Gotta qualify for the Open championship now. Idk what I have to do but good play usually fixes all that.

@LouStagner Should they do it like NASCAR, and test the winners' equipment after the tournament and DQ the non-conforming ones?

Rory's driver being ruled non-conforming isn't the scandal some are making it out to be. Over time, repeated use can cause a driver's face to flex more. This is known as "CT creep." The increased flexibility can push the club just beyond legal limits. This happens on the PGA Tour, and weekly random tests are built to catch it. This is a big old nothing-burger.

@ANGC_burner @PinehurstResort We played #7 and#2 in October (4 guys just turned 70). On #7 two of us walked it, but it is the hiiliest course. Two others in our group needed carts. Much different course than #2, and the others, but I enjoyed it

Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social
What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father! From Donald Trump Truth Social 04/25/25 04:52 PM

Augusta Diaries (Saturday) -74 (+2) today. Didn’t have my best stuff with my driver. I was messing around with my ball position a little bit during the round to try and figure it out but just wasn’t consistent enough. I hit some good ones during the middle of the round but wasn’t enough. My short game was pretty good and it helped keep my round somewhat steady. -Golf just be that way sometimes haha. I hit it as good as I’ve hit it off the tee yesterday and today it was a real mixed bag. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I worked on a couple things with Sean on the range after and hopefully it’ll be better tomorrow and I’ll be able to shoot a round in the 60s. -16 today was the middle of the green and if you hit that funnel about 7 yds wide, you had a very makeable birdie putt. If you missed it right because left is water, it was a really hard two putt. The best you could do was 10ft for par. Great test of a hole that doesn’t show on TV at times. -17, I hit it a little right, had a small branch leaning against my ball that I couldn’t move. I tried to hit a 10 yd fade… turned into a 25yd pull draw thanks to that branch 😅. Had to take relief from the grandstands and had 60 yds for my 3rd. Good bogey. -I was playing when those big roars from Rory was happening but it’s impossible to know who’s making them. Then I see the big scoreboards and went 😮. Unbelievable. It’s really cool to hear the roars reach other holes since they always talk about that on TV. -CBS and ANGC couldn’t have asked for a better final day. Rory v Bryson. Unreal. I really think it’s Rory’s time. I’ll definitely be tuning in after I finish my round. -Who do you all want to see win? Curious to see what side most of the crowd will be behind tomorrow.

@acaseofthegolf1 @AndyTFE I was on a Myrtle Beach golf trip with 11 other guys. After dinner we were flipping channels in the party room and came across the TGL finals. The unanimous response was “This sucks! Turn the channel!” It’s not popular with golfers I know. Overall grade F.

My 10 thoughts on the TGL season 1. WAY better than I thought 2. Billy Ho is so perfect for this format 3. The have to change/fix the launch monitor 4. Need way way more/varying holes. The guys know how to play the holes now and it got very monotonous. 5. @AndyTFE said it yesterday, add wind. I don't remember a non-Tiger or non-launch monitor issue shot that was widely off line. We need more of that. 6. The TV announcers have to stop making this a serious event. The players seemed to find the balance of fun/serious as the season went on. The announcers failed miserably imo. They tried to make this something it wasn't. 7. Cameron Young is so not perfect for this format 8. More drunk fans and less corporate fans 9. Why do they fill divots as the match goes on. Not like the guys are going to put their ball there. (this isn't a point, just a random question) 10. Overall grade B-.

CUTTER GETS INSULTED A routine loop was underway with a father/son duo. All going well and Cutter notices the Wisconsin Badgers driver cover. Cutter asks the son if Wisco is his Alma Mater. "It will be after I graduate in a couple months" was the reply. Cutter asks if the young man was part of the Greek system as Cutter is a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. The kid fires back "I have a great corps of friends and I don't need to buy friendship. WTF??? Sometimes they just kick you in the crotch! 😀 😆 🤣
