I partly agree and I disagree. You are right, Christianity dropped the ball pretty badly over the last few centuries. However it's not a coincidence that the Enlightenment and it's philosophical positions replaced objective morality with the subjective. I find a Nietzschean and or Kierkegaardian critique of Christianity to be a valid lens to question how Christianity needs to evolve to meet the challenges we face today
