@burgessev Things that sound good are rarely right. Any HR professional will tell you that pay isn’t the sole driving factor, especially for public service. This is a lazy surface level assessment.

All true: 1) insurers pay higher prices for self-insured plans than for their own plans 2) employers can't see this 3) but both sets of prices are excessive - as Mark says look at surgery centers for the true cost 4) all due to hospital market dominance

@TopherSpiro I would have to write hundreds of pages to go into the actual details... Mark does not have the education or knowledge of the system to write anything of substance. He can hire and get advice, but that is it.

@TopherSpiro Other countries healthcare is cheaper for a lot of reasons that will never be solved with our current political environment and the negative of government over reach and entitlements. Real centralized price regulation is actually a huge one.
