@herculezg Completely understand the question of "why are you experimenting..." But if the previous lineups, specifically the backline, have proven unsuccessful then why NOT see what CAN work? It's not ideal to stick with something just because and especially if it's clearly not working.

This is the starting XI that the pregame show (TNT, the USMNT partner) just displayed. Why are you experimenting in your final game before announcing the World Cup roster? It seems like this cycle has been a waste in terms of preparation. No matter the outcome tonight.

Today’s American History Lesson: Puerto Rico has been part of the U.S. since 1898, and Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917 🇵🇷 🇺🇸 We’ve cheered many non-Americans at the #SuperBowl. Bad Bunny isn’t one of them. 🏈 🎤

@JeromeAdamsMD It's not about citizenship. The NFL is an American sports organization where they play American Football, predominantly in America. We prefer the halftime show be performed in English, the language of our nation. Kudos to him for wearing a suit in a clip I saw on X. But English.

@tomdierberger How on earth did the Warriors trade of Robert Parish and Kevin McHale to the Celtics for Joe Barry Caroll not make your list of top five worst NBA trades of all time? TWO hall of fame players who won three NBA finals for a spectacular bust. How is it not first!?!?

Sources: MLS owners are expected to vote on flipping to fall-spring calendar at Thursday's BOG meeting. Could happen as soon as 2027. Also: Changes to competition format expected too, including single league table + divisions. w/ @PaulTenorio nytimes.com/athletic/68011…

"A man ran to the Broadview ICE facility today searching for his wife of five years. They were following the legal process, showing up for her court case, when ICE took her to another room and disappeared her. He tracked her phone to Broadview where the signal cut off. Police told him to just look up her name online. He sat in a parking lot weeping, confused, with no answers." 🥹😭👇

@DougSchneeberg @AlexiLalas I thought the world of Cherundolo. The peak of his USA career was the 2010 World Cup in which he played every minute. Here's the lineup for our pinnacle game there, in which he was solid but not a star. 12 of the 14 US players were developed in MLS (other was Jay DeMerit).

If speaking directly for US players, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey in the past. It will be interesting to see where a Cremaschi ends up or how Cavan Sullivan shakes out in a couple of years when he can officially transfer. Though, an argument can be made that MLS is developing young players for other national teams as well. (Ian Fray for example). What I find interesting is a player like Steve Cherundolo that bypassed MLS in its infancy and only played a couple of years in college at Portland. He managed to get onto a 2nd tier Bundesliga team and earn promotion at Hannover 96. He earned 302 appearances at right back. I think he is still the club's all-time appearance leader and one of about 17 non-German players to have 300 or more Bundesliga appearances. Now, I would say world class player due to the limited amount of professional players playing regularly at that position in a top league. But, others seem to require that the player has to be on a team that finishes near the top of a table, plays in other comps, and scores a lot of goals. Curious if there is a consistent metric.

WTF?! To various degrees, MLS has helped develop likes of Adams, McKennie, Reyna, Turner, Richards, Freese, Luna, Ream, Weah, Robinson, Pepi, Zimmerman, Zendejas, Yedlin, Aaronson, Morris, Nagbe, and 100s more. MLS has undeniably been net positive to 🇺🇸⚽️player development.

@BernardoControl @AlexiLalas Really? Because it seems to me that any list of the best players to ever come out of the US would include Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Tim Howard, Eddie Pope, DaMarcus Beasley, Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Typer Adams etc.

@AlexiLalas how many americans go on to have legitimately top level careers that come out of MLS? The technical quality in the MLS is not of a high enough level to produce world class footballers. Most of the players who have gone on to have good careers develop elsewhere.

The reason government programs are so inefficient is that, unlike a commercial company, the feedback loop for improvement is broken, because they have a state-mandated monopoly and can’t go out of business if customers are unhappy. No matter how bad the service is at your DMV (sorry to pick on DMVs), you still have to use your DMV, because it’s a monopoly.
