@Itilon Yeah, I was wondering whether a quote about doubting what you hear could be applied to the quote itself!

@agingdoc1 You will be sadly missed.…. 😢 RIP my friend. I still think of you often when taking Rapamycin or studying the Hyperfunction Theory of Aging. Thank you so much for all your contributions to the Longevity Field. You’re a genius. A legend!

With deep sadness, I share the passing of my colleague and friend, Misha Blagosklonny. A brilliant mind behind hyperfunction theory of aging, he was instrumental in advocating for rapamycin as a gerotherapeutic. His impact on the field was immense, and he will be deeply missed🙏

@calculatist That is 20%. Are there properties at that low price level in Karuizawa? I went to Karuizawa yesterday, from Minami-Minowa. Job hunting for real estate work opportunities. Karuizawa is truly beautiful.

@anku505 I’m taking Rapa/Acarbose until I get too gassy, then I’m switching over to Rapa/Met for a while. Back and forth… I prefer the Rapa/Acarbose though.

high protein (good). Low/restricted protein extends lifespan in animals when given at birth, during developmental growth, yearly in life. ALL nutrients activate mTOR. Just combine protein with rapamycin
Dylan@dylandoeshealth

@Blagosklonny In light of mTOR activation, what’s your recommendation regarding high/low protein diets?

Decreasing your glycogen stores is a key to increasing insulin sensitivity, and with aerobic exercise, it may take hours to deplete them. High-intensity exercise can do that in minutes.

It's a pernicious myth that you can't be lean and healthy as you get older, say at 68, my age. You don't have to be medication-dependent and declining in health. It doesn't even require much time. But it has to be your priority.

@_Biohacking Smart way to track it. I’ll go back in time to add my rapamycin as a “new category” and check the difference. Do you log it every the day you take it or for the expected time you have rapamycin on the blood?

My RECOVERY improved by 3% in the Recovery Impact Analysis on my #WHOOP by taking my 10mg of #Rapamycin a week. Thats not bad! [The Rapamycin is taken instead of the Multivitamin].

@KristerKauppi I don’t eat a high protein diet. My main goal is to eat like I normally did when I was in my 20’s , while balancing my mTOR levels through #Rapamycin AND do resistance training (to avoid Sarcopenia). I think the key is to bring mTOR down, not to inhibit it altogether.

An “epic podcast” is an understatement! This episode is packed with such brilliant and invaluable information..
Krister Kauppi - Rapamycin Longevity Lab@KristerKauppi

In this epic podcast episode I interview the world's leading Rapamycin researcher @Blagosklonny. His contribution to moving the Rapamycin longevity field forward has been huge and we would not be here where we are today without all his great work and passion in the field. I feel that this episode took my longevity knowledge to the next level. Especially because of these three key takeaways. 1⃣ I got a deeper understanding of the hyperfunction theory and how mTOR drives age-related diseases and why Rapamycin is a promising candidate to delay this process. But also why for example centenarians probably live a longer life. 2⃣ The hyperfunction theory also fits well with my current mindset and the theory was like a big missing puzzle piece that I found. I feel thanks to this that my overall work with my own longevity journey will improve a lot. The theory will not often give detailed answers on specific cases but I think it will help me in guiding me in the right general direction in different cases. 3⃣ It was interesting to get Mikhail’s view on the glucose regulating drug Acarbose and that he personally prefers a low carb diet when combining it with Rapamycin. I’m already satisfied with the levels of carbs in my diet that I eat today. It’s not a high carb diet or a ketogenic diet but something in the middle. So things point more and more to the fact that I will try to add Acarbose to my longevity stack at the beginning of next year. I don't want to decide yet what I will do so I will keep the door open for other alternatives until January when I do some kind of improvement to my longevity protocol. We were all shocked when Mikhail recently revealed that he was diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain. What he is now dedicating his life to really shows what unique person he is. He is now using his passion, knowledge and his great mind to develop a new form of treatment to cure his cancer. This is his life mission now and this is something he will share with us in the future. May the force be with you, my friend 🙏 PS Link to the epic podcast in my bio. I can highly recommend the youtube version with the bonus slides.

Krister Kauppi - Rapamycin Longevity Lab
The high animal protein diet is a topic I need to dig more in. I'm not yet convinced its the best but I will try to have this as a side topic in the podcast for digging purposes. The rebound effect is interesting. I have felt it after a extended fasting for several days. I know also other has felt it also. Like a anabolic swing after the fast. Here is a image I did on different possible scenarios in the topic.

@KristerKauppi Yes! - The “Hyperfunction theory of Aging”. - Concept of Rapamycin/Rebound effect. - The fact that he likes the combination of #Rapamycin, exercise and a high animal protein + ketogenic low carb diet. I take 10mg/weekly and have that routine as well.
