The Denver Broncos don’t have a first round pick, thanks to the Waddle trade…and it wouldn’t have been that high anyway…but if I had to “guess” I’d say the top player on their board was Arvell Reese.

One final collection of takes before tonight...consensus is Bailey, I am sticking with Reese for better or worse and independent of pick #2, need to see an offensive heavy approach from the #Jets this weekend as they badly need pass catchers across WR/TE and interior offensive line depth after a free agency period basically fully dedicated to the defense

National narrative seems to be that the #Jets are so locked into a prospect in Bailey, who’s visit they cancelled, is a questionable fit in their coach’s defense imo, and never met the staff, that they will just forego the chance to acquire more assets and just take said player

Plenty of rumors rumbling that the Chiefs will come up to 3 for Reese if he doesn't go 2nd to the Jets. Based on the Jimmy Johnson chart, this trade makes sense: Cardinals receive 9, 29, 40 Chiefs receive 3, 65.

Final before tonight - every team will want to trade up to pick 3 for Arvell Reese, but the #Jets, who are implementing a new defense that focuses on being variable, multiple, and hybrid across all 3 levels will pass on the perfect fit for a (mainly) speed rusher?

Also, Reese will very likely never leave the field for defense and can play everywhere, and also impacts the game way more than he is given credit for it seems. So this whole narrative is so silly.

@NFLonCBS @jjones9 This is an utter nonsensical reason to take a player at 2 overall. “Impacts the game in Week 1” My god the fan base deserves so much better than that if so, and their entire offseason plan makes zero sense if it’s Bailey

Even if that means a trade-up to "go get their guy," then do it (within reason). That's how baron the WR room is. -The reports of more and more tackles expected to go in the top 15 is great news for the Jets as it can potentially open up the WR board. Who I think the team ultimately leaves in the first round with: Arvell Reese, EDGE, Ohio State, and Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Indiana.
