The Jokic backlash isn't really about Jokic, it's about a particular kind of condescending, entitled, upper-middle class professional "fan" that masquerades as a neutral observer.

I have no sympathy for the podcasters/bloggers (you know exactly who I'm talking about), who have slandered and diminished SGA for three years now, but want you to be easy on Jokic after falling flat on his face. No. You set this standard. Your guy failed.

People that wanted to rewrite Jokic's legacy are going to do so because they've had to suck it up and take it for three years. They will not be convinced otherwise. You're better off just rolling your eyes and keep it moving. He's accomplished REAL things. He's been incredible. He sucked in this series from start to finish outside of Game 5. You play who's in front of you. He bears burden for the failure of this year's team more than his defenders will want to believe and less than his haters will. You're never going to stop people from trying to tear down someone who has accomplished what he has if they still want to. If he hasn't earned their respect yet, they will never give it to him because it's too detrimental to their base sports opinions.
