@Protostar Thats how extraction games work though am I right? Everyone starts out poor and you are rewarded for playing and grinding to get better game sense and loot. I SHOULD be shit on by someone with way more playing time and better gear unless I have the game sense to outplay them

Surely if they make thermal scopes rarer, and self res rarer quality, and make the base sniper cost 7k now, doesnt this just increase the gap between the "rich" and highly levelled players who have the expendable cash and the "poor" lower levelled ones? not sure that the move of just making thermal scopes rarer is the right one for balancing thermals thoughts?? #marathonthegame

You walk past a container or certain places and random objects just start making unnecessary noises. But some people like that

@MarathonGG_ Arachne is my go to and promotes how I want to play the game. Getting in there taking out runners and getting loot. The different raids and events you can do is cool and all but its just not my style. Love how you can be versatile with factions

Absolutely zero disrespect here. But I'm a pretty hard disagree here. Free kit is zero risk. But also highest potential reward. The whole point of the game is "escape will make me god." In other words, exfilling with better gear makes you stronger. If you want to be stronger against tougher opponents, you need to wager the gear you have. They basically are wagering their purple shield and better weapon, they've put a lot more on the line. Forcing them via matchmaking to only queue against others who are wagering the same level of gear would de-incentivize them to wager anything at all. The entire point of an extraction shooter is that you have to play smart to get good gear, and then that affords you the luxury of playing much more aggressive if you then equip that gear and put it on the line. All this to say, gear based MM to protect free kits is a hard no from me. If you're unwilling to wager any gear on the run, the system shouldn't treat you with kid gloves for it. If you want fixed loadouts and even footing, look to an arena shooter for that experience.

@Mapocolops Theres two things that I like about dark and darker that i would love on this game. An arena pvp mode to test out kits without losing them. And a market to buy sell and trade with players because items sell for WAAAAY less than you can buy them for in the shop

A PvP arena mode in Marathon would fix me

But you not being able to properly clear the area and check around for campers, and or maybe even use smoke on the extraction to force them to push out of a camping position if they want to kill you you while extracting is a skill gap though.
