@AlexWalason @joshlovesmovies One of/if not the most terrifying sequence put to a horror film in maybe half a decade. The kinda thing you imagined being in the closet or in the corner of your room when you were a kid. Horrifying.

This scene in #Obsession sent chills down my spine. I noticed her in the corner before my wife did and I immediately held my breath lol. The use of lighting here, barely being able to make at her horrifying expressions is just perfect horror at its best.

‘Obsession’ director Curry Barker has already filmed his next horror film ‘ANYTHING BUT GHOSTS’ • Follows 2 con artists whose fake ghost hunting business spirals out of control after encountering a real dark entity • Starring Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard & Violet McGraw

@WesleyW62623 As someone that had The Lighthouse being the most anticipated horror film after seeing The Witch, I can confirm this too

Wesley: obsessed with Obsession
Curry Barkers Texas Chainsaw Massacre is my most anticipated horror movie after Evil Dead Burn and Werwulf now. I haven't had this much confidence in a director since Robert Eggers after The Witch.

Wesley: obsessed with Obsession
I don't remember a horror movie that has been this highly talked about from critics or audience. Even Weapons & Hereditary as good as they are didn't get this. You had people calling both overhyped. I haven't seen anything for Obsession. This really is Horror of the decade.

@notfunEman This is actually one of the most horrifying shots I’ve seen in a horror movie in a long time. It’s giving Kairo aka pulse. Like there’s gotta be some J-Horror inspiration here

@FreddyInSpace Backrooms might be pretty good but the only movie that has a real shot at beating Obsession for me is Robert Eggers- Werewulf

It's always hard to pinpoint a moment or a movement or a new era until you're looking in the rearview a bit but there is an UNDENIABLE new era of horror from a new generation of filmmakers that is taking shape quite literally right now. Like specifically this month. You feel it?
Ryan Hollinger@ryanhollinger

OBSESSION is the first legitimate Gen-Z horror masterpiece. I know internet discourse has diluted to hyperbole, but this is a true modern classic. Relentlessly intelligent, distressingly funny and it’s the first time since Hereditary I was left profoundly shaken. An all-timer.

@RyderYorgos Weapons is very good but splitting the movie up in chapters based on different perspectives allows for a less interesting rewatch. It also allows the audience to breathe and alters the pacing, which Obsession does not alter almost at all. Obsession wins.
