@red_yokes@RealChrisLangan It's likely a mutation that a certain % have. Whites in the west have been industrialised for the longest time of any group of people so a lot genes that would normally be bred out of existence through natural selection have been able to survive over the last few centuries.
@TiberiusKingsly@AlanMyron@ODonnell4NH@shoe0nhead@knutacious@TowerGangPod That article was far from clear in it's conclusion if you actually read it. When people have more disposable income community based charity is a better way of giving than using profit based corporate charities which outsource work to companies.
@TiberiusKingsly@AlanMyron@ODonnell4NH@shoe0nhead@knutacious@TowerGangPod You're quite literally playing a guessing game by assuming that and even then it still doesn't dispute my initial claim. Another thing worth noting is that with local charity, 100% of the money is used towards helping people, which is in contrast to -
@AlanMyron@ODonnell4NH@shoe0nhead@knutacious@TowerGangPod If governments didn't take 30-50% of peoples money every year it's just logical that it would result in more people being charitable. The real issue is the destruction of community though, people care a lot more about helping people that they grew up with than total strangers.
@ODonnell4NH@shoe0nhead@knutacious@TowerGangPod I love how the libertarian solution to most social programs is: “charity”.
You guys know charity is something that can be done right now, right?
Who is doing it?
Oppression by corporations is just as bad as oppression by the government.
@MrJamesCCC@SeanBoscott@emma_barnstaple@zarahsultana I haven't, I'll give it a read if you'd like. I wasn't referring to the report though, rather that you seemed to have missed the point that many illegal immigrants are posing as refugees, so the people calling out refugees aren't technically wrong.
As tens of millions of people flee war, persecution and the effects of climate breakdown in the coming years, one principle will be non-negotiable if we want to live in a humane society:
Refugees are welcome here.
@MrJamesCCC@SeanBoscott@emma_barnstaple@zarahsultana James you seem to be missing the point that a lot of these illegal immigrants pose as refugees. Some refugee camps are estimated to be up to 90% men aged 20-40 from areas which aren't the stated place of crisis. It isn't surprising that criminals would take advantage of this.
@SeanBoscott@emma_barnstaple@zarahsultana Have you read the reports from Huang and Kvasnicka that calls a lot of this into question? There’s also complete agreement that many of those involved were illegal immigrants and not refugees.
@qprmicky@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell Your entire perspective is warped. You're going off of learned public narrative rather than historical fact. Even the phrasing, that Germany attacked Britain and France is wrong. Britain and France declared war on Germany, not the other way around. How is that Germany attacking?
@alogicalfallacy@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell you're ignoring the fact only 25 yrs earlier we'd fought another war in Europe & Hitler wanted to take over Europe to regain German pride & fulfill what he thought was his destiny,of course he was a threat to all Europe & had to be stopped,it wasn't just us & France he attacked
@qprmicky@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell At the end of the day, Germany had not harmed Britain nor France by invading Poland and it is a hypocritcal opinion for two of the most imperialistic countries to ever exist to declare that another nation started a world war by invading an unrelated country to reclaim land.
@qprmicky@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell Yes but Germany was as equally untrusting of Russia as Russia had tried to form a pact with Britain and France against Germany prior to Molotov Ribbontrop pact. Britain only declared a week before Germany's planned invasion of Poland that it would declare war if Germany did so.
@qprmicky@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell Another point I will add is that if Britain and France were "forced" to declare war on Germany to keep Poland's sovereignty, why did they ally with the other country that invaded Poland and why did they let them conquer Poland after WW2?
@qprmicky@Moxey25Michael@Rob_Kimbell Before that pact was signed, the USSR had tried to ally with Britain and France against Germany. Only when that failed, did Germany and the USSR agree to non aggression. The entirety of Eastern Europe was conquered by the Soviets, why wouldn't Germany be next?
