This chronic overuse also causes: - Increased Glutamatergic motor drive to massters motor neurons. - Increased Substance P and CGRP levels in muscle tissue. - Local hypoxia + ishemia. - ROS and NF-KB meditated inflammatory singaling. - Increased Fibroblast collagen cross-linking -> Fascial stiffening. That’s why you should be massaging your Masseters especially Intraorally. When you work intraorally, you can reach: - The deep head of the massters. - The tendinous and periosteal interfaces. - The densified perimysium and endomysium.
