@SwillCS @VivaLaDoctor @LGrapenthin i agree, but when you considere the cost production of both game and the fact that Marathon as a way less players playing it then Arc, its not a good look for Marathon and the future is not positive for the game

@c_danick @VivaLaDoctor @LGrapenthin Well no the falloff isn’t bigger because marathon had a much lower peak. You can definitely argue that marathon is a failure based on the total number of people playing, but it also definitely has good retention (way more people no-lifting it proportionally)

Marathon’s steam playerbase has decreased by 76%, whereas arc’s steam playerbase has decreased by 77% of its players. This is pretty comparable. Arc also launched in a time of game drought. My question is why has Arc lost 368,896 players in 6months…?

@c_danick @VivaLaDoctor @LGrapenthin If there are more people playing, that does mean that more people will stop playing, but that does not mean a higher % of people will still playing. A higher % of arc raiders players are dropping the game compared to marathon, which means marathon retains its playerbase better

@VivaLaDoctor @LGrapenthin and you compare a 6 month old game with a game who come out like 1 month ago. Arc raiders budget is like 75 to 100 milion dollars, Marathon is 250 to 300 milions. Its easy to say Arc raiders is a huge sucess and Marathon is near a failure

@VivaLaDoctor @LGrapenthin Marathon show a better retention...its pretty normal when you compare a game with over 100k concurant players game with a game that cant break the 40k. If there is more people playing a game, the chance are higher that more player will stop playing it, its just logic

I've never seen brigading so obvious as what's happening to marathon. Almost every single detractor in this thread is either a bot, or espousing maga, racism, or homophobia on their accounts. And it's so obvious they're extensively pushing for this game to fail for no reason.

What went wrong with Marathon? ARC Raiders: 5 months old Marathon: 1 month old

BALANCE SHAKE UP! We're looking to make some changes in the next couple of patches to adjust some of the outliers in the combat space that we've both seen in our observations and heard from your feedback across all of the various (and plentiful) channels we watch. Some of these changes will be likely coming in the next patch, the next set will likely be arriving a week after. Here's some of the areas we're focusing on adjusting: - Bubble shields being too easy to get, too powerful to use. - The Knife scaling too easily to god like power levels. - Thermal scopes being too present and dominant - Snipers being too strong in all scenarios. - Giving Vandal and Recon some more oomph to match their counterparts. ALSO we're adding some stuff that can help add texture to the outcomes of fights: - SECRET: A new item to give solos a more common option when downed. - SECRET: A new item to give a more merciful option between crews. There'll be a lot more goodies in the coming patches and more details as the patch notes go live. Thank you all again for keeping the feedback flowing. We've still got a big list of things we're looking into that extends beyond this that will take us more time to figure out and we'll update you as we continue to build on our evolving plans.

So we’ve gone from Marathon is never coming out. To, Marathon is dead on arrival. To, Marathon will be shut down in 30 days. To, Marathon will be shut down in 6 months. To, Marathon will be shut down in a year. With this trajectory it will be claimed Marathon will be shut down in 2 years next week 🤣
