@RexTheWonderCat @fattyfatlooser @sanskarstine for how many years was sexual activity between people of the opposite sex banned in the US? For how many years were straight people demonized and told they are going to hell because they're straight? Have you been told you need to go back in the closet because you're straight?

Funny how straight people holding hands, kissing or talking about their spouse is just called life. Gay people doing the same suddenly becomes "sexual" .

Them: "I just don't agree with your lifestyle." Gay person: "Oh, you mean my 'wake up, drink coffee, let the dog out, change the cat's litter, start a load of laundry, grab a protein shake on the way to work, flop into bed exhausted at the end of the day' lifestyle? Them: "No, not that. I mean..." Gay person: "You mean gay sex? Then say that. Don't say lifestyle!"

@cb4136 @MikeCanning7 @joshnaa2gez Remembering tv commercials from my childhood is perverted? Crazy how you associate children toys with sexuality. Is sex your whole identity or are you still unraveling that in therapy?

There would be 0 benefit to having sex with a man because it produces nothing. So there’s actually no reason for me to go against my natural inclination to have sex with women. But, you know what is unnatural for almost all men? Monogamy. Do you really think it’s natural for a man to have sex with only one woman for the rest of his life? Of course, it’s not. But, guess what… monogamy is good for me, good for my wife, good for my children, and good for society. I choose to live a monogamous life. It’s unnatural. And it is also good.

@joshnaa2gez Why don't you have sex with a guy first just to show us how easy it is to flip that switch.

@VandalCrow @h21sda @HotMoozik because for the vast majority of the existence of this country, same sex activity was banned. It's a result of straight people banning things because they're uncomfortable, and gay people said that's enough and pushed back. That is why.

@h21sda @HotMoozik Yes but straight people don't go around and say "hey today I'm proud that I'm a heterosexual". Why don't straights have a flag and a month to celebrate? It just seems odd.

Being gay didn’t take anything away from my life. It gave me everything that matters most. A husband I love with all my heart, children who make me proud every day, and a family built on love, commitment, and joy. I wouldn’t change a thing. That’s why I’m proud.

@LysanderTheLion @porkytheking I reject your premise because I don't believe in god. I feel no need to accept a Jewish carpenter from 2,000+ years ago as a savior.

@cb4136 @porkytheking I'm not calling for any legal bans. Consenting adults are more than free to live their lives is whatever manner they choose. The only thing none of us is free from is the consequence of sin...unless we accept Christ and repent.

@cb4136 @MikeCanning7 @joshnaa2gez Mocking? Peer pressure? Is your method of argumentation based on hoping I care about majority opinion or fitting in? Shame culture? Did you have a point at all or did you learn your reasoning from a Tickle-Me Elmo?

@porkytheking @LysanderTheLion I mean same, but they don't care that you don't like it, they're still going to turn against you because you're gay. They don't like gay people, no matter how many times they say "if you're a normal gay we don't care" while screaming that being gay is wrong and should be banned.

@joshnaa2gez did you choose to feel romantic and sexual attraction to the opposite sex? Why should someone deny those feelings for the same sex that are mutually shared because of a religious choice you've made?

LGBT is the only category where society thinks a predisposition negates your ability to make choices.

@cb4136 @MikeCanning7 @joshnaa2gez Which part? That a straight man having sex with a gay man wouldnt prove anything and is dismissable? That a gay man can choose a straight marriage? That one can choose not to be defined by their sexuality?

Science shows the same thing about lots of attitudes and behaviors, including political leanings, religiosity, criminality and violence, intelligence, etc. Yet, we do not argue people have no choice in these regards. Why would we treat homosexuality differently? Why would we apply a unique standard to homosexual attraction and say that a predisposition removes choice? Especially when the genetic component influencing sexual orientation is weaker than it is in the above traits I mentioned?
John@johnstribe

Here we go. The ole “no gene” comment. Well, science shows sexual orientation is a complex, mostly involuntary trait influenced by biology and early development. It’s not a conscious “choice,” and not caused by abuse. Major professional bodies (like the American Psychological Association) state that sexual orientation is not a choice and cannot be changed at will. They describe orientation as emerging early in life from a “complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors,” with evidence that genetics and prenatal hormones play a significant role. Large genetic and twin studies show there is no single “gay gene,” but many genes each contribute a small effect (polygenic), similar to traits like height or personality. Identical twins are much more likely to share a sexual orientation than non-identical siblings, which is strong evidence of genetic influence, but not 100%, which shows non-genetic biological and developmental factors also matter. So the argument “there is no gay gene, therefore it’s a choice” is just bad logic: most human traits don’t come from a single gene, and yet they’re still not choices (eye color, left-handedness, etc.). Believe what you want;you’re going to anyway. That’s called bigotry.

@MikeCanning7 @joshnaa2gez Doubt it, because it can easily be dismissed as bi. It takes a brave Gay man to have a straight marriage, switch or no, because he chooses to value it and because sexuality does not dictate his life choices.

Here’s a practical reason to oppose normalizing homosexuality- not based in religion or ideology: 1. Most men are highly motivated by sex and heterosexual monogamy does not fit their natural instincts. Without social conditioning, most would be polyamorous, and many would be fine with having sex with either gender. 2. Women have much more at stake when having sex, and thus, when they live in a society that respects their autonomy, they are very choosey about their sexual partners. 3. When women are allowed to choose their sexual partners, they tend to choose mature men for long-term partnership. Because women are physically more vulnerable- especially when bearing and raising babies- they tend to choose long term mating partners who are (a) competent enough to provide, (b) dangerous enough to keep the wolves and barbarians away, and (c) compassionate enough to care for them and their children. 4. This sexual selection encourages boys to grow up and become mature, competent men. ANYTHING that disrupts this sexual selection process is detrimental to society. That includes: - Pornography -Birth control - Abortion -Prostitution -Rape -Treating women like property with no right to choose their sexual partners (cough cough… Islamic countries) And, yes, homosexuality as well. Anything that allows men to satisfy their sexual urges without meeting a woman’s needs first is bad for society, bad for women, bad for children, and bad for men. If men can just have sex with other horny men, thy never have to mature. They never have to curb their instincts and behave like gentlemen. “Gay” men can act as feminine as they want, but they’re still dudes. And they are missing the opportunity to connect with a female and allow her to balance their masculine energy with her feminine energy. Look back at the literature. There’s a clear pattern… Societies who forego sexual standards immediately begin to decline. They waste their time engaging in self gratification and become unproductive. Within 3 generations they become totally inert and are taken over by a stronger culture. It happens every time. And notice… we are about 3 generations away from the sexual revolution of the 1960’s.
