@Nebulai @CaryKelly11 @Man_with_a_van Surprisingly, both synthetic (plastic-based) and natural/plant-based gums released similar amounts of microplastics (no significant difference overall).

Anyone still chewing gum? That chewy part that never gets smaller is a plastic polymer. That same polymer can also be found in plastic bags, glue and tires. A 2025 UCLA has shown that chewing gum releases hundreds to thousands of microplastics into your saliva per piece. I highly recommend you stop chewing plastic.

@rupertgumpert @neoavatara @theblaze Large studies show COVID infection causes 2–3× higher risk of myocarditis/pericarditis than vaccination (e.g., 2.24 vs 0.85 excess cases/100k over 6 months). Vaccine cases are milder/rarer.

@neoavatara @theblaze Ok “expert” why is it wrong? What accounts for the rapid increase in myocarditis in young adults? The increase is staggering. Shit like this is why there is zero confidence in the medical community. The hubris is astounding.

Whoever decided that Arizona was the best place for data centers must be absolutely braindead. Up to 120° for over half of the year. Genius. 🙄

@Garnet_2203 My father was diagnosed with brain cancer and had 3 back to back strokes. Left him unable to do anything We all knew he wanted MAiD, he was very clear on his, but he was unable to communicate it when it was necessary. He was in constant pain and couldn't talk or move for months

I agree with you wholeheartedly. My mother died of lung cancer. Almost a full year of constant pain and suffering. We couldn’t use MAID not because she didn’t deserve that choice, but because she also had dementia and wasn’t legally allowed to consent. We had the conversation before she got sick she was clear. If she ever faced a terminal illness, she would choose MAID. But dementia took that choice away from her. Our only option was palliative care. And because it was during COVID, we were told we wouldn’t be able to be with her in her final moments if she stayed in hospital. So I brought her home and cared for with the support of the palliative care nursing team. There were ambulance calls when her blood sugar spiralled out of control. Pain medication didn’t work. Prednisone made things worse. In the end it was pure suffering. So she suffered. Bedsores. Pain. The slow, cruel reality of a terminal illness. People who haven’t lived this don’t understand what they’re taking away. These aren’t people choosing death over life they’re choosing peace over prolonged suffering. MAID is compassion.

My step mother used MAiD. I don’t know if she would have died within a year but I know she would have lost capacity to consent, advanced consent being also removed by this bill, I do know she was in pain every single moment of her life. I know her disease was going to kill her slowly and brutally. I know MAiD was what she wanted and the most peaceful way to go. This bill is not reflecting the reality of those who are dying from debilitating illness.

🚨BREAKING: Sen. John Kennedy is moving to put the SAVE America Act as RECONCILIATION, which only needs 50+1 votes. Reconciliation means they can pass it with 50 votes, not 60. If the SAVE America Act is written as a budget-related bill (money, funding, enforcement) it qualifies for reconciliation which allows it to pass with a simple majority. Why has it taken so long to come up with this? Why is Senator Kennedy coming up with it? … Instead of our leader John Thune? Thune has to go! Whether corrupt, compromised, or utterly incompetent, he has to go!

@MikeCanning7 @preta_6 You are wrong, Mark. How do I know? I personally checked the 3 hospitals on South Vancouver Island and 3 on the lower mainland on job applications. This is their policy. There may be some rural facilities whose mayors have overridden this out of desperation for staff.

Meaningless. Spending millions of tax dollars to hire a few hundred Americans who will surely not last up here (where the pay is bad, and the cost of living is worse) is just a BC NDP circle jerk. BC FIRED far more nurses for refusing COVID jabs, and refuses to hire them back. BC also fires nurses who advocate for women's rights and biological reality. The healthcare system also takes frontline staff and puts them in pointless DEI/project mgmt/admin jobs. Frontline staff who serve patients are burnt out and hate their jobs. This is not a win for you or your government, Osborne.
Josie Osborne 🇨🇦@Josie_Osborne

One year ago, our government launched our campaign to attract U.S healthcare professionals. As of today, more than 400 have signed on to work in B.C communities big and small, urban and rural with many more are on the way. #BCHealthCare @Dave_Eby

A year ago (when Mr Carney took office), we were told Canada’s growth would be 1.8%. In October it was downgraded to 1.4%. This January it fell to 1.1%. Now the Bank of Canada says it will go lower still. When will Canadians start seeing the economic growth we were promised?

This is unhinged. The President of the United States went on a late-night rant, making clear he believes the Supreme Court justices he appointed owe him their loyalty and should always rule in his favor. The President of the United States is openly attacking the independence of the judiciary, the very institution that stands between every American and unchecked executive power. Courts don’t work for the President. They work for the Constitution. And a president attacking the judiciary for doing its job is telling you he believes he is above the law.
