We forgive @KirkmeyerforGov, but forgiveness does not remove accountability. We still expect a sincere apology for the disrespectful and unacceptable behavior that was displayed. What Colorado voters saw was revealing. The arrogance, dismissiveness, and political posturing exposed a side of Barb Kirkmeyer that many people have warned us about for a long time. This is exactly why so many hardworking Coloradans are tired of career politicians who say one thing in public and act another way when dealing with real people and real victims. Your actions didn’t strengthen your campaign they exposed it. Any slim path you had to winning this primary just became obsolete. Acutely addicted individuals often lack the capacity to recognize the devastation drugs are causing in their lives.
Instead of connecting them to treatment and a path to recovery, organizations like the Harm Reduction Action Center hand out drug use supplies like meth pipes, straws, and foil, enabling continued use rather than recovery.
This isn’t compassion.

Had a great time at this year’s Sportsman’s Day at the Capitol. Wild game cookout, good people, and a real conversation about what matters to hunters, anglers, and families across this state.
John Howard, former Chairman of Colorado’s Parks & Wildlife Commission said it best, we need science-based wildlife management and a commission that actually represents Colorado, not just a narrow group pushing an agenda.
As governor, I’ll appoint the right people. Qualified. Experienced. Rooted in real conservation. That’s how we get Colorado back to working for everyone.
