@NotTyFrance There would be zero acceptance of a male former college or minor league baseball player doing this job. Honestly, RRS and his 120 games is borderline.

Another season, another helping of defending Angie and making it seem like she’s invincible to criticism. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Nobody is calling into question her knowledge of baseball, and it continues to be weird how people interpret criticism of her as such. The criticism stems from the flow of the broadcast, comments made to meet the moment, etc. A few examples: 1. With the Mariners losing by one run against the Rangers on 4/6, Josh Naylor threw a ball into LF which turned an inning-ending DP to men on 1st and 3rd with one out. Angie’s contribution was suggesting that Naylor was probably “smiling” because the runner got in his way of the throw. 2. Countless examples of overanalyzing aspects of the game to where the analysis bleeds into the next pitch, which simply doesn’t allow Goldsmith to call the action because she can’t succinctly provide analysis in the allotted timeframe. There are others of course, but those are two prominent examples. You know what ISN’T a criticism? Her gender. And it’s beyond tiring the lengths weirdos like Jim Moore will go to paint the narrative that anyone who criticizes her is somehow a misogynist freak. In fact, I would bet LOTS of money that the people who regularly criticize her (like myself) would say that they love Angie on the pre and postgame shows. She’s better suited for that. And there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s our opinion. Stop demonizing us for vocalizing it. It’s just fucking weird.

Another season, another helping of unfair criticism of Angie Mentink. Please make it stop. #GoCougs jimmoorethego2guy.substack.com/p/cant-we-cut-…

@TridentTrue The other day I turned the game on and for the first minute or so it was just Goldy doing play by play and it was really nice. Sometimes less is more.

Hancock’s success has been well documented in the first two weeks but what hasn’t been said is how much this totally changes the dynamic of the rotation. You almost force Dan into a 6 man rotation once Bryce gets back. You can’t sit Hancock right now.

@hawkmania4 I don't follow the draft like I used to, but I'd love to get a 2027 first rounder and something else (whatever the charts suggest) back.

@JulianGuilarte1 You are way higher on Coors and Truist than I am but other than that this list looks similar to mine. Wrigley and T-Mobile are both in my top 5 out of the 27 I’ve been to

@PitchingNinja Wait, why don't they have the ABS measuring it at the front of the plate if that is where the strike zone is supposed to be officially based?

Umpire incompetence or a Rulebook/ABS Mismatch issue? 🤔 This pitch may have been both: -a Strike according the rulebook strike zone (3 dimensional/starting at the front of the plate), and -a Ball, according to ABS (2 dimensional/measured at the middle of the plate).

6/$24M for Evan White 7 years ago. I'm guessing that contract didn't stop them from signing somebody they wanted down the road but with this group who knows

@PuckSports He's the right guy for this contract. The beat writers say he has his head screwed on right. You've got your C, CF, and SS locked up for the next 5 seasons, time to go win some things.

On one hand you say the M's are brilliant for doing this because if he is the player they all think he is than it will be a steal. However, there is something about earning it and how he's viewed in the clubhouse. I dunno, perhaps that's overthinking it. The $11.8M a year puts him per year puts him 6th on the team. More than Gilbert, Kirby and Donovan. 4th largest overall contract on the team, $3M more than Naylor.
