@jacobkornbluh The whole premise of the question is ridiculous here. If you have a state with a conventional military and a network of unofficial militias worldwide, and you disagree with their use of the latter, is it good to degrade the former? Pretty evidently not!

@satrns_nebula @fictionalangst You're right all we need is a community perpetual motion machine to extract free energy from, and a community spatial region which is 10% bigger than itself. Shouldn't be too hard after that.

Ppl have been eating meat since the dawn of time. Indigenous communities eat meat in a non wasteful way. Industry is the problem not the consumption itself this is a dumb take.
R@fictionalangst

eating meat wastes more water than AI. I‘m anti AI in regards to art - whether its movies, books, paintings etc but yall acting like anyone who like or uses AI is a climate terrorist meanwhile yall couldnt care less about the BIGGEST clinate destroyer: meat consumption

@heavenly_otter @intentionalisms Yes I didn't think about the terrible ambiguity between past "would" and subjunctive (?) "would"; I meant the first! I was wondering if the "dating friends" discourse could be transferred to those days, but strangers would become friends-of-friends, if you see what I mean!

@cryptosocdem @intentionalisms People being introduced to potential romantic partners through friends is one of the routes that has most catastrophically fallen off. Use to be one of the most common, but just isn't now.

The entire dating crisis - and the whole modern culture of “dating” as a kind of sport or hobby to begin with - is entirely downstream of the apps. Almost nobody romantically pursues someone or “has a crush” in the ways we did even ~7 years ago. This is why the whole “should you date your friends” discourse happened. To anyone romantically active before the pandemic, “dating your friends” is what you *do*. Who else are you gonna date, your enemies? But post-pandemic “dating” is synonymous with “meeting online strangers and making a rational decision as to whether you want to take it further”, not “asking someone, presumably someone you previously know, out”
Nikolaj🇺🇦🇵🇸@nikicaga

Pretty clearly a result of dating apps - looks are more important than ever for first impression, reducing the impact of both personality and "game"

@AndreTI @0xglitchbyte If you don't have a precise spec, it doesn't make sense to talk about correctness. Your point about laborious boilerplate is good, but I think optimistically this ought to mean programmers essentially become spec writers for problems that were out of reach because of that labour.

@0xglitchbyte AI coding models are still not that smart and it's tempting to use them at an excessive level of abstraction that causes issues. But if you can't get time savings *and* correctness out of them, it's a skill issue, not a permanent feature of the technology.

At this point I'm pretty convinced that one thing zionist / israeli nationalist organisations could do to stop radicalizing people against Israel is stop holding events. The homicidally deranged fundamentalist aesthetic is probably not very helpful with the mass of secular people

Home office wanted to proscribe. Not long later Brize Norton- a departure from tactic, that met threshold and media ran with it. Ppl should study spycops and wider counterinsurgency and learn from undermining of dissent inc agent provocateurs etc
Declassified UK@declassifiedUK

The UK police spent £10m tackling protests against the ban on Palestine Action. The Home Office spent £700,000 trying to secure the group's proscription in court. The ban was found to be unlawful, and the Home Office now wants to spend more money to challenge it.

@yungdessalines @ceilingtwerker I don't think there's evidence that these plant milk crazes are caused by vegans; there are too few of us for that (plus I think people tend to opt for more practical plant milks!). Instead it's some kind of weird health thing among meat eaters who want to maintain their hedonism

@ceilingtwerker This why I keep my foot on vegan necks. I appreciate the spirit of reduced meat consumption but turning it into dogma has lead to the ballooning of harmful industries like the almond industry, which, aside from harming bees is disproportionately linked to water scarcity in CA

@Abtisam_Mohamed @OfSymbols @bat020 Would you abstain on a Bill that would result in the government blowing up your house if the same "good proposals" were also added to that policy, or would you be tempted to vote against in that case?

On jury trials other than the removal of jury's there were other good proposals in the Bill but will be working with others on amendments. Hence abstention. This is only the second reading and not the final bill. If there are no suitable changes which reflect required changes I am pushing for then there is a final vote on third reading.

Get it right at least. I abstained against proscription and have spoken on the issue in Parliament. Basic check of the records and you would've seen this. On jury trials, I spoke against because of the impact on vulnerable groups, abstained in the vote and will be working with Ministers to ensure there is an appropriate sunset clause/review through amendments at committee stage.

This is my MP for Sheffield Central, Abtisam Mohamed. She abstained in the vote on jury trials and voted In favour of proscribing Palestine Action. I will not be voting for her at the next GE.
