@Slooties @TheSpursWatch Which is the most retarded excuse ever. I guess if you stamp on someone it’s not a foul if they aren’t stood up? Like what are we doing here?

@daveyapps @TheSpursWatch I don't think there was any contact. Udogie is shielding the ball and leaves it behind. The camera angle just made it look like a penalty was what I was trying to say. Yeah it would be interesting to see someone put together a video of all of the penalty incidents this season

@Slooties @TheSpursWatch First glance means ref should have given it. Still no penalty this season for spurs. I wonder if that’s ever happened in the prem?

@TheSpursWatch First glance yes, second glance looks like Udogie left the ball behind when trying to shield it. Might've been offside and not clear and obvious error anyway.

I instinctively knew that tennis was super healthy (plus I play w a doctor who told me that) but I didn’t realize it was this next level. 10 extra years? Nice.
Aakash Gupta@aakashgupta

Tennis players live 9.7 years longer than sedentary people. Not 9.7 months. 9.7 years. Nearly a decade. The Copenhagen City Heart Study tracked 8,577 people for 25 years and ranked every sport by how much life it adds. Badminton: 6.2 years. Soccer: 4.7. Cycling: 3.7. Swimming: 3.4. Jogging: 3.2. Tennis almost triples jogging. A separate study of 80,000 adults found racket sports cut all-cause mortality by 47% and cardiovascular death by 56%. Swimming hit 41%. Aerobics hit 36%. The question is why racket sports destroy everything else. Three mechanisms stack on top of each other. First, the physical demands. A tennis rally requires explosive sprints, lateral cuts, and sustained aerobic output. You're training fast-twitch and slow-twitch muscle fibers simultaneously. Most cardio only trains one system. Second, the cognitive load. You're reading spin, predicting angles, adjusting position, and executing motor patterns in real-time. Your brain is solving spatial puzzles at 80+ mph. That hand-eye coordination and strategic processing builds neural connections that protect against cognitive decline. Third, and this is the one researchers keep coming back to: you literally cannot play alone. Every racket sport requires another person on the other side of the net. That forced social interaction triggers neurochemical benefits that solitary exercise cannot replicate. Strong social connection alone increases your chance of longevity by 50%. Jogging is you and your thoughts. Tennis is you, a strategic opponent, and a community. Dr. Daniel Amen is right. The data is overwhelming. If you want the single highest-ROI activity for a longer life, pick up a racket.

NETANYAHU: “Did the Nazis ask the Jews to leave politely? Did they say 'Please leave?' Of course not" Umm…yes. The Haavara Agreement facilitated the emigration of German jews to Palestine. 60k jews chose this option and safely got out. The Nazis even mailed them their shit.

@hypergraphing @AMAZlNGNATURE It’s not about brain overall size it’s about the size of the brain compared to the body. Hence why crows are so intelligent and cows are so dumb. Orcas are smart but not even close to humans in intelligence.

Well, considering that their brains are five times larger than ours and have twice the number of wrinkles and a proportionally larger neocortex than we do, I'd say they are as smart, if not smarter, than we are. However, because they live in the water and have the physiology they do, they can't really apply that intelligence into tool-making to reshape their environment as we have. Imagine being as smart or smarter than we are, but unable to change your environment at all? No wonder they are so good at hunting. I think in the future, if we ever do animal uplifting, there won't really be that much work on orcas; it'd be more about using AI to facilitate communication and translation across vastly different experiences of the world.

One of the biggest mysteries to me is how Orcas, the ocean’s most efficient predators, have never attacked humans in the wild… almost like they know something we don’t.

What's that got to do with anything? It's just the hat of a fictional character, I love Christmas, all its themes and motifs, decorations, I even like Santa as a character, I just choose to focus on the magic we create by spending it together as a family and the things we do together instead of lying to my kids about Santa being real. I want Christmas to continue to be just as magical for them later in life. I've seen too many of my generation grow up and stop celebrating it or feeling like it lost its magic because it was all stemming from something unrealistic.

@TheFigen_ Make real unforgettable experiences, don't raise 'em to grow up and think magical moments have to involve deception. We're capable of pretty awesome things as a species.

@daveyapps @EPLBible Yeah I can see the referee giving a yellow card under Law 12 for reckless play. I guess ultimately it's always going to come down to ref's discretion, which is an issue for continuity. I'd be fine with a law change, which awards a red card for a situation like this one.

@EPLBible No need to try and reinvent the laws - a gentle two handed push in the back doesn't meet the threshold for a red card, not unless it's a DOGSO situation. You can hate the outcome of the push, hate how ratty the push was, but it's not a red card.

Understand he is not stating canada should charge people to leave the country. He is saying that if canada pays for someone's education, there should be rules around people not being able to leave canada with the skills the government paid them to get. Like a rule that requires a student to pay back their education fees if they don't stay in canada to work. It's not ridiculous to expect something out of a person we as tax payers invested in.
