Canada hasn't caught on how serious this is yet. All conservative paths lead to independence right now. I agree w/ @JeffreyRWRath, at minimum a separatist Bloc Redneckois will form in the fallout ...and not just in Alberta.

The only argument Iโ€™ve heard against Alberta independence is nostalgia. Thereโ€™s nothing wrong with this argument, but looking out for your children and grandchildren is 1000x more important than a nice picture of Canadiana.

@YukonStrong @JeffreyRWRath And mar Alberta politics with this futile attempt of secession by a bunch of individual groups who canโ€™t get their shit together; scaring away investments. The opposition and our current government is not on your side, and thatโ€™s a huge obstacle.

We had another full house in Calgary yesterday. During the Q&A someone asked how we reach the younger people? They seemed worried that there weren't many in the crowd. Here's my answer. "Don't equate the crowd tonight with the overall support for the movement. We reach people through small events like this, social media such as Facebook, one-on-one discussion, podcasts, living room meetings, ralies, road-side petition locations, and even mainstream media stories. Different groups engage differently. Older Albertans like to meet in settings like this. But right now, we also have more than 350 folks watching us while we live stream. Many are younger supporters, who have families, jobs, and can't take time out of their lives to come attend an in-person meeting at 7:00 pm on a Thursday." I can assure you from my own personal experience, especially as a canvasser who has collected over 600 signatures, that the movement is reaching across the entirety of Alberta's population. See you in Lethbridge tonight.

@JeffreyRWRath I would name it Buffalo as they almost did in 1904 debating in parliament to split it up because โ€œthey will have too much power โ€œ their words not mine but true

@JeffreyRWRath It was called Buffalo before the Feds broke the 2 apart. It was too large at the time, and the Feds wanted to make sure that all Canadian power stayed firmly in the East.
