We are in deep, deep trouble. A reader wrote in to me this week saying that they wouldn't read my Trump corruption story because ChatGPT "fact-checked the piece" and informed them most of it was false. Among other things, ChatGPT told them that there is no Iran war, Jared Kushner is not a negotiator in the war, Qatar never offered Trump a $400 million plane, George Santos wasn't pardoned, the NYTimes did not report on Syrian billionaires lobbying Trump for sanctions relief, Trump never launched a meme coin, and World Liberty Financial (the Trump family crypto firm) doesn't exist. Of course, all of these things ARE real, do exist, and are happening right now. Apparently, the reader copy and pasted the text of my story into ChatGPT, and without the links ChatGPT couldn't confirm any of it. Once the reader sent ChatGPT the link to the story, it ended up concluding all the facts were correct. How many people simply don't know how to use AI and are offloading all their thinking? It's a terrifying thought. And a totally new frontier of reality to navigate.

Showers will be isolated to the mountains and the western slope west of the Continental Divide, with high mountain snurfall possible in the San Juans stretching up into the central and northern mountains this afternoon and tonight. Due to downsloping southwesterly winds east of the Continental Divide, temperatures will climb into the 70s, with low 80s possible along Highway 50 and stretching into western portions of Kansas. Tuesday will be a bit cooler as a storm system moves through. It’s pretty weak, and there’s not a lot of moisture associated with it, but showers will become more scattered across the region, including Wyoming, Nebrasky, and western Kansas. There could also be some isolated thunderstorms. We’ll dry back out for Wednesday with a mix of 60s and 70s. The wind then kicks up ahead of a strong cold front on Thursday, so expect widespread 70s and 80s east of the Continental Divide and near 70 on the western slope. Tuesday, showers become more widespread, scattered, and hit or miss, of course, but there’s still not a lot of moisture. Dry and warm Wednesday. Warmer and windy Thursday. @PastorTrey05 I’m the opposite. I used to feel less anger and more pity, or what I like to call “holy sorrow.” I always appreciated that I didn’t feel anger, especially because I grew up a Republican and could at least understand their mentality. Now, I feel white-hot rage. God forgive me.

For the most part, I don’t feel anger toward these folks anymore. It’s still there a lil bit. And there’s definitely still a controlled, righteous anger toward the things they’re doing. But toward the people themselves? I’m growing a capacity for pity. The soul is ill.

Dear @JDVance: As a congressional democrat, I will answer your question. The reason investigations are conducted before reflexively making a judgement is because no one knows all the facts in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy. You unfortunately have already concluded, without all the evidence, that the victim was a deranged leftist trying to run the officer over, and that the officer was defending himself. New evidence, however, suggests the victim was a U.S. citizen, a mother of three, a Christian and had recently dropped her child off at school. Additional video footage also suggests the second and third shots fired by the officer occurred when the officer was to the side of the vehicle as the car was driving away. Under the law each firing of the gun is analyzed separately. Witness testimony also suggests one of the ICE agents told the driver to MOVE, MOVE, MOVE. The driver may have been trying to comply with potentially conflicting instructions from different agents. Slow motion video from various angles also shows the vehicle appears to have been turning when the officer fired the first shot, and certainly that was the case by the second and third shots. Your reflexive never admit wrong approach is not only based on zero investigations, it also leads to increased risks to federal officers. The American people will get increasingly agitated and angry if they believe the Trump Administration will never hold anyone accountable ever. If you want to bring down the temperature, if you want to reduce the risks of violence against federal officers, then you need the American people to believe that you and the Administration will make decisions based on facts and will comply with the rule of law. It is also highly suspicious that the Administration is refusing to cooperate with local and state officials as they conduct their investigations. There is no reason to make the American people think there is some sort of coverup. Allow all the investigations to be conducted fairly and with transparency. So I respectfully request that you and the Administration stop pre-judging this case, and stop making incendiary or smear the victim comments that appear to be contradicted by additional new evidence. I also request that the federal officials cooperate with all the state and local officials. That is the American way, and will help calm the situation down.
