Would you let a computer hijack your muscle movements if it increased your performance 35%? I totally would. Came across a really interesting ACM paper today (SplitBody), where subjects were given difficult multitasking challenges. Their mental load was “reduced” by having a computer electrically stimulate their arm instead. Bodily autonomy wise, it might feel a bit freaky, because you have the proprioception of your arm moving, but without the mental load of you moving it. I think it’s actually less creepy than it sounds, and I wish more research was poured in this area. Let me give an example. As a dancer myself, early on, aerials have a difficult initial mental barrier. The common way to learn is to essentially let your teacher control your muscle movements, repeating the overall motions, over and over again. By sort of “proving” the movement is possible (giving up autonomy!) the concept suddenly clicks, and you’ll “just get it”. I feel like there’s probably a lot of interesting biological barriers that could be overcome if you trained yourself to go past traditional limits by electrical stimulation first. Take a look at the Bannister effect!

i have a theory that all the people complaining about Claude getting worse actually just vibe-coded themselves a massive ball of slop without paying any attention to architecture and they gradually start noticing poor Claude struggling with it more and more

@Convell4 @GaryMarcus you can make a model say anything. if an arms manufacturer makes decide to use the openai api to identify targets, it shouldn't be openai's fault if a target is wrong, they aren't selling a guarantee that they will answer 100% correctly, the arms manufacturer is doing that

@VincentVentalon we know this parameter exists because it's in the system prompt + you need this number somewhere in the context to instruct the model on how much thought it should put in. openai does this as well with their juice number

On peut difficilement savoir si ce paramètre existe, mais si il existe il a été fine tune pour répondre à ce genre de preprompt sinon ça fait peu de sens Sauf si c’est une observation empirique qui fonctionne mais ça serait surprenant

With Denuvo removed Resident Evil requiem now has offline play and gets a small boost in performance, using about 1GB less vram. If I pay for a product shouldn't I receive the best version of it? We really live in a world where you need to pirate and crack games we own to have a better experience and its total bullshit.
