Anyone use an Icom 705 for #GreenCube? I normally use my 9700, but I want to use the 705 when traveling light. What do you use to control doppler? I'm not a fan of SatPC32.

Other approach: add some (password protected) backend/interface for him so he can enter the activities on the page on bis own?

Participated at the SHF day of the summer bavarian mountain contest (Bergtag.de) for the first time. Weather was a mess, 10-12°C on top of Herzogstand and heavy rain esp. in the morning. Enjoyed it nevertheless with two fellow OMs. Nice Qs on 23/13/9/6 cm #hamradio

@FG8OJ I have a similar setup for linears (TX 818, RX 705), very happy with the combination. 6W is OK for portable for me, no additional PA for now. Started with 2x818, moved to 818 + Malahit SDR, but 705 for Rx is just my favorite :)

First test with a new satellite portable setup : - TX : FT817+SSPA - RX : IC-705 ✔️ Qso with N3FL ✔️ Much more easy with waterfall and a little more than 5W

@dl1com Manufacturer is Molynx not sure of the model, I've had it a few years now. It's 24v DC with multi-turn pots for feedback. At the moment I have a simple manual Az/El with a speed controller & a pic displaying the degrees. I now need to look at making it track automatically.

New purchase a surveyor's tripod which I've attached my old camera pan&tilt head too, hopefully will let me do some satellite work including the ISS DATV when it's back on 🤞 next need to build a controller and fit some antenna's 📡🛰️

Here another photo from the polarization rotor by @superandz #greencube operation increasingly difficult here on the campsite. QRM, ISM splatter, some kind of repeater triggered on +/-435.312 and even another IO-117 operator 😄 Only QSO this pass: HB9/@FG8OJ 🙏

Arrived at HAM RADIO campsite in Friedrichshafen and errected the satellite station, including custom polarization rotor by @superandz. Already did some tests, now first IO-117 pass for us today!
