The Declaration of Independence consists of the introduction, the preamble, the body and the conclusion. Some scholars consider this to be the second section. “That, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.” The founders, having revolted against a tyrannical government, put a stop gap for us to legally revolt against one in the Declaration Of Independence. Then they gave “We The People” the ability to enforce it via the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. 27 words, ONE sentence, to make sure its meaning could not be misinterpreted.
