PlayStation is moving away from the mobile game market. They will continue to support previously announced titles like MLB The Show Mobile, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, and the NCSOFT titles but "Outside of these titles, we will be scaling back in this space" to "focus our efforts on a few select high impact projects."

Jason Schreier reaffirms Sony's strategy shift away from PC, says they will publicly confirm it some point:
"At some point Sony will confirm it, whether it's on a call with investors or maybe even when Housemarque starts doing press for Saros and someone asks if they have plans to bring it to PC and they say no."

The PC will still be BETTER! even with PT, on a console your not going to get the full sweat effects of PT like on PC. look at DF latest video on PT in requiem. There’s different types of PT. this console will have to chose which form of PT it’s going to use for that scene. Vs a PC that’s not limited to these choices. So which one will the PS6 get unidirectional(standard PT) or bidirectional path tracing! So again PC will have the better form of PT, b’c again pc is able to run SYSTEMS simultaneously unlike console!!!

Im actually impressed by how incompetent PlayStation were when it comes to PC ports: -No consistent pattern, -Released newer games in a series without back porting the older titles, -No marketing, -Tried to force PSN on people. How did Sony expect this to be a winning formula?

@JuggzMcGee711 They don't really make all that much money on single player games on PC though. Only 2% of their revenue for the last 5 years come from those games, that's not very much at all.
Maybe it's worth losing that revenue to give people a reason to continue buying PS consoles.

Sony just doesn't want to admit their market strategy is a bust and their next gen can't compete with the new Xbox Hybrid having access to PS games.
So they opt to be greedy and make less money

Sony makes the majority of its money from micro transactions and third party sales from people being on the PS platform. (COD, Fortnite, Minecraft, soon to be GTA6 etc.) The PC sales for Sony games have dropped off a lot lately and PC gaming is taking away more PS players than it is gaining. So in terms of business, this move makes sense IMO. The console is the bread winner for Sony atm.

@biggdogg3223 @Genki_JPN PlayStation is a platform, not just studios so they are not in the same situation or can have the same strategy as game studios do.
In the last 5 years only 2% of PlayStation's revenue has come from PC, maybe the risk of damaging the brand outweigh the benefits 🤷♂️

@salvador_flores To be fair they acquired Nixxes at a time where their plans and the gaming environment looked different compared to today.
Plans do change, I just hope they either let Nixxes work on 3rd party ports or sell them to someone instead of just closing the studio if it comes to that.
