Korra treats metalbending a lot more like she's actually bending paper. Like I've read books featuring wizards who control paper and those are the exact moves they do. It's also funny because I've heard people say "Oh they use special metals that are good for bending", but that's actually opposite how it works. The purer the metal, the harder it is to bend because you can't actually bend metal, only the tiny particles of earth in the metal. If you wanted to make metal that's better for earthbending... You just get a rock.

This scene is a good example of my issue with metalbending in Korra. In the original series, Toph had to be in physical contact with the metal, because it was much harder to bend than actual earth, because she was bending the impurities within it. Meanwhile, the metal bending in Korra is basically the opposite, they actually bend with far more precision than anyone bends earth with, which doesn't make any sense. It's kinda in the same vein as the lavabending, where instead of applying any actual logic to it, they treated the bending as pure sorcery. Korra doesn't learn it from anyone, she just has it, because she has more Bending Midiclorians than everyone else, I guess.

@LarcenyLt_K @Maxpain144 She indirectly gave powers to zaheer, she gave access to Unalaq to Vaatu, she didn’t do his job when the earth kingdom needed order and it cause a power vacuum. Amon it’s not her fault but she disobeyed when she was told not to go to republic city.

@Maxpain144 Stupid take. The earth Kingdom revolt was as a result of the Earth Queen’s death (Which Korra caused by indirectly making Zaheer an air bender) wherein different factions began to rise trying to shift from a monarchy to an Oligarch.

@Maxpain144 Bring out the evidence of this. They took those lands straight from the earth king, they didn’t just commandeer it. The revolt has nothing to do with the stolen land. It’s only Kuvira that cared. The unrest came from upstarts trying to take control after the Queen died.

It's easily Air and by FAR. The air nomads being pacifists is the only reason they didn't take over the damn planet. Every other bender can have their bending resource taken away. Good luck trying that against a bloodthirsty air nomad lol
