Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

Who Will Build NYC if Builders Are the Enemy? As a New Yorker Jew, I'm surrounded by people who have been in real estate their entire lives. I am not trying to feed a stereotype, but that's my reality. They aren't activists or online commentators. They are people who bought their first buildings with all their savings, carried debt through rate hikes, fixed things themselves when there was no money to hire, and stayed in New York through high crime, recessions, 2008, COVID, rising taxes, insurance increases, and an ever-expanding book of laws and codes. None of them were promised fairness before they started, and none of them were protected from risk. They succeeded very slowly, and painfully, but with responsibly. That experience is exactly what is missing from the worldview of Zohran Mamdani, and it shows in every part of his housing agenda. Mamdani has never built anything. He never signed a personal guarantee, never met payroll, never carried a mortgage through a rough month, never had to choose between fixing a boiler now or hoping it survives another winter because there is no cash. He has only operated in a political world where consequences are abstract and other people absorb the risk. When you have never operated in the real economy, it becomes easy to believe that shortcuts are solutions. It is also why his message resonates with a certain type of voter. The people demanding “housing reforms” are not bad people. They are frustrated renters who feel like the system is rigged against them. I understand the frustration. But frustration doesn't change math. Housing is hard. Ownership is a very slow process. Building anything meaningful in this city takes years of stress, and debt. The people calling for "landlord policies" often want the outcome without the grind, the stability without the risk, and the reward without the years of sweating that every responsible adult who succeeded here had to endure. But it does not work like that. NYC is in housing crisis. Citywide vacancy sits around 1.4 percent, a level economists consider an emergency. Median rents keep rising anyway, with Manhattan near $4,800 and Brooklyn around $3,800, even under an already thick layer of regulation. The reason is obvious. Supply has not kept up. In a good year, New York adds roughly 30,000 units. The city needs hundreds of thousands more over the next decade just to stabilize prices. At the same time, construction costs here are among the highest in the country, financing is extremely difficult, and insurance is wildly expensive Mamdani’s proposals take that fragile situation and make it worse. When you cap upside while leaving downside unlimited, rational people stop participating. Developers do not argue on X. Lenders do not protest. They simply reallocate. Projects stop coming up. Renovations are postponed. New construction dies before a shovel hits the ground. The people I know in real estate are not angry. They are disengaging. Some are buying elsewhere. Some are sitting on cash. Some are done entirely. And when that happens, tenants do not win. Buildings deteriorate, supply tightens further, and rents rise anyway. What Mamdani offers is emotional satisfaction, not solutions. He tells voters that prices are high because someone else is greedy, not because the city has spent decades making housing harder and almost impossible to build. He frames landlords as villains instead of participants in an ecosystem that only works when incentives align. That framing feels good, but it does not produce housing. It produces resentment, fear, and withdrawal. Everyone I know who made it in this city did it the same way. Slowly, without shortcuts. Policies written by people who never did that do not create fairness or affordability. They create shortages. NYC doesn't have a landlord problem. It has a confidence problem. And a city that teaches people to hate the builders while demanding more building is a city sabotaging its own future.

Some conservative voters intended to vote for @CurtisSliwa because they believed, based on the early polls, that @ZohranKMamdani was a lock to win. In other words, they thought they could vote their ‘conscience’ without affecting the outcome of the election. Now that the polls have narrowed to a margin of error between @andrewcuomo and @ZohranKMamdani, it is critical to vote for Cuomo to save NYC. Every vote matters. We can save NY from Socialism and from a mayor with no experience who wants to defund the police, and whose entire political agenda is driven by his foreign policy views and his failed ideology rather than what is best for NYC. Cuomo is extremely experienced and capable. He has made some mistakes and learned from them. That’s where judgment comes from. He will be a great mayor. Call your kids, mom, dad, siblings, friends and colleagues and make sure they vote for Cuomo tomorrow because NYC is a terrible thing to waste.

GEN Z: Zohran Mamdani’s socialism doesn’t protect you. It traps you. 🚫 Rent freezes = no apartments. 💸 His tax hikes = no opportunity. Gen Z is the most innovative, entrepreneurial generation we've ever seen. But Zohran isn't going to freeze your rent- he's going to freeze your future. I spoke to someone who knows @CurtisSliwa and now I understand why he is staying in the race. The City has an 8 to 1 matching program for NYC donors. Sliwa got ~$5m of matching funds from the city for his campaign. According to my source, Sliwa’s wife, friends and others are on the campaign payroll, and he and they are enjoying living off the city taxpayers who are funding his race/lifestyle. He doesn’t want to end his campaign and have to return the funds. Follow the money. When I asked why he doesn’t care about NYC? my source said: ‘He doesn’t give a sh-t.’ Clearly, this is hearsay, but my source is extremely credible and a highly respected person, and he knows Sliwa well. Curtis, please correct the record if I got anything wrong. What personal or other related expenses is your campaign paying for? Is your wife and/or other family or friends on the campaign payroll or receiving any funding? Please clarify the record.

An Open Letter From a Group of Republican New Yorkers to @CurtisSliwa Dear Curtis, As Republicans and proud New Yorkers, we recognize your decades of service to this city, from founding the Guardian Angels to standing up for law and order when few others would. You’ve earned our respect and gratitude for your unwavering commitment to keeping New York safe. But today, our city faces a different kind of threat. Zohran Mamdani’s radical, socialist agenda would bankrupt our city, destroy small businesses, and drive working-class families out of New York altogether. This election isn’t about party lines, it’s about survival. For the sake of New York’s future, we urge you to consider stepping aside to unite the anti-Mamdani vote. If you put New Yorkers before politics, history will remember you not just as a fighter, but as the man who saved this city from the brink of communism. Every poll shows that only Cuomo can defeat Mamdani in a head-to-head race. Unfortunately, this is the reality that we all need to accept. For the sake of this city that you and we love, please step aside. With respect and gratitude, Republican New Yorkers

I was the clear winner tonight. Cuomo bombed it. He should drop out and let me take on Zohran Mamdani one on one, and I’ll beat him for New Yorkers.

A few thoughts on the NYC mayoral debate: First, kudos to the moderators. One of the best moderated debates I have seen with excellent questions. On @ZohranKMamdani: It is now abundantly clear he is completely full of it. The whole thing is an act. Just look at the identical practiced smile with which he ends each answer. After watching him recreate his fake smile, your skin will start to crawl. Mamdani exudes inauthenticity and smugness. He denies or disavows any of his previous public statements that he knows will now cost him votes. The only takeaway is that he is an extremely articulate inauthentic actor. You can’t trust one word out of his mouth. And that’s before you get to his policies which make no economic sense. On Sliwa: He comes across as a good man who cares and knows a lot about the City. But if he really cared as much about NYC as he seems to, he needs to drop out of the race tomorrow. A vote for Sliwa is a vote for Mamdani. Sliwa will hand NYC to Mamdani if he stays in. And I am concerned he will do so as he comes across as having a big ego, and he is out of touch with his place in the polls. On @andrewcuomo: Cuomo had a great debate. He was knowledgeable, practical and full of common sense about what NYC needs and what a mayor should do. He has his mojo back and did a great job attacking Mamdani for his lies and providing credible solutions for problems and issues. He came across as strong, confident and authentic. He should be our next mayor. Please watch if you have time.

A vote for Mamdani is a vote against your freedom to be yourself and choose what's best for yourself and your loved ones. A vote for Mamdani is a vote for tyranny. The democratic party has been stolen... Don't be fooled.

One of my good friends pointed this out…Here’s an excerpt from the Nobel Peace Prize Winner’s interview shortly before she won the prize. Democrats far and wide need to read this carefully. @CAgovernor @Ilhan @RashidaTlaib @SpeakerPelosi @RepJeffries @BernieSanders @KamalaHarris @GovTimWalz @POTUS @DonaldJTrumpJr @SecScottBessent Nobel Laureate Maria Corina Machado: “Twenty-six years ago, Venezuelan youth fell in love with a socialist in Hugo Chávez. When people pointed to Cuba as a warning, they said, “Venezuela is not Cuba. And Cuba is not real socialism.” But here we are—worse than Cuba. Socialism always follows the same pattern. It elevates the state above the citizen, strips away your autonomy, your conscience, your dignity, your ability to choose. And it does so with a seductive lie. It whispers of equality, but the only equality it delivers is at the bottom—where everyone is dragged down together. That has been the case in every nation, on every continent, in every culture where it has been tried. The result is always the same: a gigantic state that crushes the people beneath it, and once it takes hold, is terribly hard to remove. Only free societies—where the individual comes first—can nurture both liberty and the responsibility that sustains it. Because freedom without responsibility decays, and responsibility without freedom is tyranny. But when merit becomes the path to rise, when effort and creativity are rewarded, then every citizen is called to succeed—the whole nation rises together. That is what we want for Venezuela. And it is why I say to the American people: Do not be seduced. Socialism is the sexiest path to losing your freedom. Guard your freedom jealously. Defend it fiercely. Because freedom is not just an American promise—it is the hope of the world.” 🎩 MP

A vote for @CurtisSliwa is a vote @ZohranKMamdani. @CurtisSliwa, it is time for you to leave the race. We are grateful for all you have done for New York City and your advocacy, but the facts on the ground are clear. @andrewcuomo can beat @ZohranKMamdani in a one-on-one election if you drop out of the race. Every day you wait to leave the race reduces the probability of stopping Mamdani. I know you don't want to hand the City to him. Please step aside now.
