@ThreeUKSupport Hi just to let you know the email you send “Take action now to keep your Three plan active” after 180 days inactivity says the account will close TOMORROW. But then just 5 hours later I receive “Your plan has been closed”, before I have chance to do anything
English

@DuncanBannatyne I work inside government a lot of the time. The waste is institutional and endemic. Vested interests means nothing is done about it.
Even competent people who want to be productive can’t do anything about it.
English

@davepl1968 @codr_1 yes I agree. I sometimes spend 30 minutes writing the prompt. Sometimes I have found the best approach is to write an interface and ask Claude to implement it, but that gets tricky when you need to build a subsystem.
Still not finding that it’s taken my job…
English

@codr_1 I didn't see his prompts, so I don't know. But the quality of what it produces is usually tied directly to the quality and specificity of the prompt.
English

Now when you get it working, ask it what prompt would have gotten you there directly. Then improve your prompting to avoid the four hours of nonsense.

Spent 5 minutes generating working C++ code from a spec with AI. Spent 4 hours refactoring it manually.

@PythonPr big green tick next to one, big red tick next to the other. You’re welcome

@JonoTHFC1882 @TiceRichard @McivorJaymey Claiming expenses is tax avoidance.
Salary sacrifice is too. Avoidance is legal.
The government make the laws. Dont punish people for doing things that are legal
English

@TiceRichard @McivorJaymey You’re avoiding paying tax in the country you want to represent. How patriotic of you.
English

I must thank the Sunday Times and Dan Neidle for their detailed article confirming that my tax planning was entirely legitimate.
The libellous headline is the work of a desperate Establishment trying to smear me and Reform.
If you want successful people to save our economy and country:
Vote Reform

We listended at the last GE. Labour promised to freeze taxes and deliver economic growth - the country voted for that. Instead, Labour put up taxes, increased unemployment, and delivered barely any growth. Businesses have been in the trenches since Labour got into power. It's been a disaster.
Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner
This result must be a wake up call. It’s time to really listen - and to reflect. Voters want the change that we promised - and they voted for. If we want to unrig the system, if we want to make the change we were sent into Government to make, we have to be braver. A labour agenda that puts people first. That’s what all of us across our movement need to rededicate ourselves to this morning.

@Petierla @robprogressive it’s true. if i earn over 99k, then i lose £20k given i have 3 nursery aged children.
English

@robprogressive Take home salary £99k is £5665 per month. At £140k it's £7166. Granted, you lose up to £166 per month per child and 15 hours of taxpayer funded childcare but you are certainly not "worse off".
English

@perilousbanana @robprogressive the point is, I stop working… the government dont get more tax.. I just stop. It’s a bizarre situation.
English

@flebonch @robprogressive I’m sure you’ll cope on £150k plus a year…
English

Imagine turning down a pay rise because it would make you poorer…
That’s exactly what happens when you start earning over £100k
If you’ve got children in nursery then you’re better off earning £99,999 than £150,000
In the U.K. we literally penalise people for earning more. No wonder high earners are leaving
English

@perilousbanana @robprogressive In that situation any illness would not only lose my ability to earn but also cost me £15k+. Only financially illiterate people would carry on working.
English

@perilousbanana @robprogressive it’s actually true and I’m living it.
English

@robprogressive Utter nonsense.
Take home pay at £150k is ~£91k
Take home pay at £99k is ~ £68k
Difference of £23k - which is childcare cost for 2 children.
This “loss” isn’t an actual loss and only applies to people with children of certain ages, who get those free hours.
English

Reform's hospitality pledge blows a £10bn hole in the public finances.
Fantasy figures. Utter irresponsibility. We would all pay the price.
