@fluff9999

Used to play with planes. Enjoyed playing with planes. Stayed in some good hotels. Went somewhere hot. Came back. No longer play with planes.

24x7 reacting to every news snippet, crypto bro, media analysis, opinions, and counter opinions, must be exhausting. I dont know how people on here do it. 99% of it just theatrical noise

This’ll make you laugh. Sam has just got home from work. Me ‘give us a hug’ Sam ‘why, what do you want’? Is this a normal wife reaction?

@defencewithac Grow short range with starstreak, grow medium with sky sabre, and buy 2 patriot systems, covering London. Manpower mostly reserves. Its really not hard. We dont need a full UK 'Iron-dome'. Yet.

The underappreciated element of this is that, with drone technology where it is, the scale of the air defences required to be truly safe is now massive. The sheer quantity of required air defences would make WW3 planners baulk.
Francis Tusa@FTusa284

The UK needs UK-based IAMD and Ground-Based Air Defence (GBAD). The idea that the Home Base is somehow "safe" is sadly utterly laughable - it isn't. T45 and Typhoon can only do so much, and in many reasonable scenarios, would only appear after an attack had caused untold damage

Historical Fact: Between March 1946 and August 1947, our airport was used for housing prisoners of war. This taught us everything we know about handling passengers today.

That the state of the British Armed Forces is such a surprise to many is a sad reflection on our political and media class. People have been screaming about it for decades, and given a stiff ignoring.

I'm sure we must have done this but has anyone read anything on harmonising NATO and national standards, mutual recognition of regulatory obligations, and other similar overheads in defence?

@JohnRosier @SharePickers The trick is to have at least 1 EV - the fuel saved brings packback down to about 5 years. You can also make a lot by sending power back at peak time, can be 35p KW, and Octopus just cut my nightime price from 7p, to 3.5p so a fill up of the car is £2

@SharePickers Out of interest, how much was the capital cost? How much do you think you will save over a year?

Two weeks ago we had solar panels and a battery fitted. We have just completed our first full week with the system. Our electric bill for the week commencing 10th March 2026 compared to the same week last year has dropped by 71% from £31.71 to £9.05. We also have not received our DNO cert yet which would allow us to sell back into the grid. On sunny days our battery has been full by 11:30am meaning we don’t yet benefit from the excess free energy being produced. We are now going to buy an electric car and fill it with free energy. If only all of the UK could do this, it would go along way to reducing the countries high energy costs. @octopusenergy @g__j

@PC_Angry I dont think starstreak is rated for highspeed aircraft launch - and AKPS is much smaller, better to adopt starstreak for army and RAF Regiment, and AKPS for Typhoon, or even Hawk or hawk replacement, give Red Arrows back a war role.

@FennellJW The price is up because supply is constricted - so even a bit more supply, will bring some down pressure on prices. But the real help is security of supply, the government can do whatever it wants to do about where that oil is sold, and the price. A 10 year plan would be good.

Unfortunately North Sea oil and gas are sold on global markets so will not insulate us from price shocks. I'm in favour of more production and strategic storage, but lets not kid ourselves, it will not bring prices down.

Put fake nails on my right hand, sat on it till it went numb, then gave myself a shandy. Figured it would feel like someone else was doing it, actually was more like being wanked off by a corpse. Would not recommend.

Brushed my teeth while having a piss this morning (gross, unhygienic) and the electric toothbrush fell out my mouth and into the toilet and carried on buzzing in my piss and I just stood there staring at it for about 30 seconds.
