When proxies of Tongai Mnangagwa claimed that their boss controls @PoliceZimbabwe and the judiciary I doubted them. Now that Takunda Mhuka has spent 20 days in prison for reporting being being assaulted I now realize that the justice system is not for us common people. Our duty is simply to pay tax funding a system that oppresses us. How do you explain arresting a victim who approaches @PoliceZimbabwe for protection? How do you deny the same victim bail for a manufactured charge of MDP of value USD 10? How do you deny the same victim a court record that enables him to appeal to the High Court? Why have we allowed such grave injustice to be the normal in a supposedly independent and democratic Zimbabwe? We were told that we would enjoy equal protection from the law. That was a lie! We were told that bail is a right, that was a lie! The truth is the system is designed to punish poor people.

My thoughts are with Takunda Mhuka tonight—sleeping in a cold prison cell because he had the courage to hold the oppressor to account. We must celebrate such courage. These are the heroes of our time. It shall be well. The night is darkest before the dawn. #FreeTakunda #NoToCAB3

Magistrate Mangosi has denied Takunda Mhuka bail, citing him as a flight risk. Ironically, Mhuka was arrested while attempting to report an assault at Waterfalls Police Station. Since then, ZANU PF-aligned politicians have filed counter-charges of malicious damage to property, politicizing the matter and forcing the Law and Order division to intervene. This represents a total breakdown of the rule of law, where the justice system is wielded as a political weapon. The situation mirrors that of @DougColtart who was assaulted and his attackers remain at large. The 1980 promise of independence is now hollow, replaced by a dictatorship striving to outdo the Smith regime. ZANU PF officials now operate with total impunity, shielded from the reach of the law. Mhuka will appear in court on 24 April. Lawyers will file an appeal at the High Court. Mhuka was smiling behind bars, demonstrating his unshakable resolve in the face of injustice! We ask citizens to demand freedom for Mhuka! He is innocent! #FreeTakundaMhuka

Remember Takunda Mhuka who is prison for reporting that he was assaulted and the business premise he was working at was vandalized. Mhuka is now being charged with Malicious Damage to Property. He is in remand prison. State is opposing bail. He will appear in Court on 7 April 2026! Mandevere of @ZLHRLawyers is representing him.

Takunda Mhuka arrested by Waterfalls police. He went to report that he was assaulted by known ZANU PF youths leaders. Takunda was assaulted while working at our communal business place in Waterfalls. The thugs forcibly closed our communal space and destroyed property. Unfortunately police have arrested him for filing a report of assault and damage to property.

I am told Tongai Mnangagwa has ordered that I should be terrorized out of my Retreat residence. He claims I have ambitions to unseat him. He is scared because he is our MP but doesn’t live with us! For the record I have no ambitions of being an MP. I am content being a Trade Unionist and a teacher. We just work with the community to improve our lives as ordinary people. Fighting poverty should never be criminalized!

@MacBelts There was no need to participate in such a charade. This is another version of 2017, kuitiswa and then dumped after legitimising the farce. Now they are withdrawing their participation which should have been done on the onset.

#CAB3 constitutes a raft of measures which can improve the country's democratic system and developmental agenda through ensuring policy continuity and accelerate development programmes. Yet some have chosen o fight it for the simple reason that ZANU PF is leading the campaign. That type of politics is dull.

We have located ZINASU student leader Denford at Bulawayo Central Police Station. He is reportedly being charged simply for wearing a ZINASU Learnmore Jongwe T-shirt. The regime is scared of alternative voices. #NoTo2030
