The renovated Municipal Library at Ponda Municipality in Central Goa and the upgraded E-Vachanalaya were inaugurated under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24. The scheme aims to strengthen children’s and adolescent libraries and expand digital infrastructure across Goa. The initiative is aimed at modernising public libraries and improving access to learning resources. The project focuses on upgrading physical infrastructure, introducing digital facilities and expanding public access to knowledge platforms. The State Government has set a target of modernising 168 libraries across Goa, of which work on 20 libraries has already been completed. The E-Vachanalaya is supported through Central Government assistance to promote digital learning opportunities and bridge access gaps between rural and urban areas. The initiative also envisions dedicated reading spaces for senior citizens to encourage inclusive participation in the reading culture

Please visit at the Goa Kala Academy 's rehearsal room: The ART STORIES is an Exhibition of Paintings of persons with disabilities and participants of the course Art as Healing Tool. It is a curation of artworks that give unique expressions to everyday ideas. This exhibition recognises that “Every person is an artist” and that “art can reshape society for the better as stated by Joseph Beuys, a German artist. The Exhibition is a collaboration between artists with intellectual disabilities from Divya Sadan (a project of Caritas Goa in Porvorim, North Goa); St Francis Xavier Vocational Centre (Education and Vocation Centre for Children with Disabilities), Old Goa and Participants of the Course ‘Art as a Healing Tool’ (organised by Caritas Goa at Panjim). Ms Lioba Knepple, is the artist and art facilitator who guided all the artists. The Exhibition is curated by Samira Sheth, which opens at 12.00 noon, Sunday, 14th till 21st December 2025, outside rehearsal room at Kala Academy, Panaji. The exhibition is organised under the banner of the Serendipity Arts Festival 2025 @FestSerendipity. Entry is Free. Need to register. The proceeds of the sale of the paintings and other products will go to support the work for persons with disabilities. Caritas Goa, that has brought the artists together, through the two centres and the art course, is committed to helping the needy, the oppressed, the marginalised, and the victims of natural and man-made calamities. ..... Visited the on-going Art Stories exhibition at the Kala Academy,Panaji Rehearsal room @FestSerendipity today. The approach corridor to the said venue has handle bars only on one side. Visited the The Art- Ties exhibition @FestSerendipity is at The Lab at the Inox Panjim entrance from the car park. Opp the Alag Festival Shop. The TIES Collective in collaboration with artist Clarice Vaz, showcases their solo exhibition ‘Communication on Canvas’. Happy to be present for the inaugural, along with @avelinodesa of @goadisability today. It will be on display till December 21. The exhibition is part of the Art-TIES Project, where young adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities from the TIES STAR Centre collaborate with professional artists. Each piece joins the students’ handprints and patterns with the artist’s style. Kudos to Clarice Vaz, who developed a unique syringe painting technique to produce intricate textures and patterns with these adults with neuro diversity. Secretary of TIES and project lead Elizabeth Kurian, a mother of a adult with Autism said that the project began in June 2025. Vaz first observed the students’ abilities and then trained special educator Joycelyn Mendonca in her syringe technique. “Over several months, students practiced, repeated and refined their skills, while volunteers, including social worker Aquilla Fernandes, supported them throughout the process,” she says.👍🙏❤️ @ClariceVaz34172 @abhimurugkar @discommgoa @mdsawant7nabgoa
