@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis Those players have existed since the dawn of Warhammer. I still remember the 5th edition transport spam or ZM leviathans. I won’t argue that 40K had shifted over toward an RTS than a wargame, but it didn’t start with the L Shape, imo started with an event culture shift

@gr33nmat @AngryMinis The thing is, those WAAC players didn't appear out of thin air. This entire situation, from L-shaped competitive ruins to toxic WAAC players, was deliberately orchestrated by GW. They want you to play their way, and chase meta, and buy new "power" units.

Others enjoy building the army and gaming, some are just hobbyists that build, others just play, some do everything. If some one doesn’t play like you, then you don’t play with them

@gr33nmat @AngryMinis And I didn't mean you specifically, since you put effort in your terrain. But from terrain to models, it is all part of hobby. If someone disagrees, we shouldn't change hobby for them, but rather ask if it is hobby for them? P.S. terrain I made for Battletech. All by myself.

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis whether it is some one cheating, using the WAAC-iest list imaginable, or just being unpleasant to be around, it happens and its okay. These multi hour games are as much as an investment as building the armies and terrain

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis then is it worth it to play with those people? I've made compromises, didn't have fun, from those experiences I declined numerous games from those types of people. Does it suck, yeah, but declining games based off how people act is something that has been around forever

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis The idealized and naïve notion that every board that to be well crafted is not at all realistic. There are events that have it for sure, but individuals aren't events. It takes forever to paint these armies, adding terrain on that is another level

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis There is not a single "right way to play". Our main goal is to have fun with each other and make sure we can move our models without a lot of hassle. If it means using the occasional L shape, mixed in with a bunch of other shit, so be it

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis At the end of the day, terrain is entirely dependent on the rules, the players' goals on the type of game (competitive, narrative, etc), the pieces they have, and how much effort the players want to put into them. If you have a problem it, fix it.

@JWarral90921 @AngryMinis Yeah gamer's terrain collection hasn't changed over night, people will use what they have. Nothing is wrong with L shape terrain, they've been around forever because they work for the game part of our game. I use them in heresy, along with a bunch of other stuff the shop has.
