I don't know why this is controversial. Praying the rosary DURING mass actively goes against the church's desire for everyone to actively participate in the mass, the rosary is not a part of the mass. Especially during the communion rite.

It was an error that had already festered in quarters of Rome, despite the Pope's "final authority".

If Scripture alone is the authority, why did the Protestant Reformation produce conflicting doctrines? Luther says baptism regenerates Zwingli says it’s symbolic—both claim the Bible. How do we avoid error without a final authority?

@TaylorRMarshall If you read the verse before it, the main point of Peter bringing up baptism is to show how once water destroyed us (the flood), but now w/ baptism, water is used as a representation of our "good conscience toward God."
He is not saying "you are only saved if you are baptized."
