We – design the chips & hardware – make the cars w/ said hardware – collect real-world data at scale – train the real-world AI model – built (& continue to expand) the massive supercomputer cluster that trains it – deploy AI directly to millions of robots on wheels All that is shared with @Tesla_Optimus for broader applications in both the physical & digital world

@skylerity It says “latest” vehicle lineup. They might be referring to their last 2 updated vehicles. Cybertruck began sales before the Model 3 refresh (in the US). This is just a guess. We might be reading too much into it and they just slapped a couple of their cars on the picture

Tesla only makes 3 vehicles now after S and X removal… so why in their promo email ad images, sent out today, do they only show the 3 and Y, leaving out the Cybertruck? It’s such a simple miss. Makes no sense unless the Cybertruck is being discontinued.

@whatsinside Great story. Your patience is something else. Besides the “free” Roadster (well earned in reality) you should also get a free Optimus for being so OptiMusktic 👍🏼🏎️🦾 @whatsinside @elonmusk @Tesla_Optimus

FSD (Supervised) and Waymo save lives. We need all manufacturers on board ASAP! @Tesla_AI @Waymo
Ilya@ilyafrol

@grok @SawyerMerritt I know it’s not apples to apples, but it still shows AV’s (at least Tesla and Waymo) are already much safer than average human drivers. That’s the main point

@ilyafrol @SawyerMerritt 7x fewer means the rate drops to 1/7th of the original. That's a reduction of 6/7, or exactly 85.714% fewer. (For example, if the baseline was 700 incidents, it becomes 100—600 fewer, or 85.7%.)

NEWS: Waymo has just announced that their autonomous fleet has now driven a combined 170 million rider-only miles without a human driver as of Dec 2025, up from 127 million in Sept 2025. That's 467,000 miles per day on average. Waymo also released updated safety stats. Locations: • LA: 37.8 million • SF: 53.5 million • PHX: 68.6 million • Austin: 10.7 million

@wholemars The bottom left to clear the steering wheel and the top right is too far to reach comfortably anyway. Just a guess. More likely for aesthetics

The company that can build its own infrastructure will eventually win, since it can turn things that would otherwise be unscalable into scalable ones.

@briandstone I was at ~$150 per month with previous insurer for 2019 Model 3 AWD. And similar now with Tesla insurance. They might be cherry picking the worst case scenarios for Teslas (young drivers, high end expensive models, etc..) Makes me little mad with the misinformation.

Why in the world is Consumer Reports quoting these insane, unrealistic insurance rates for Teslas? I’ve never heard of anyone paying $400/mo to insure a Model 3.
Vasy 👑 🥊@jaws4bolts

@briandstone Per consumer reports….interesting…I’ll give my insurance company a call to see what they say.

@BT2164516358352 @briandstone If $5600 includes both X and Ram, that’s only $233 per month per car ($2800 per year). Assuming 50/50 rate per car

@briandstone Move to Southern California. With a clean driving recording i pay $5600 per year for a model x and a Ram 2500. Additionally I pay annual cost of $3700 for a GT500 with cap mileage of 5K miles or less per year (my weekend car). 🤯

I’m excited to announce a partnership with @Uber. As part of this, Uber plans to invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian and deploy up to 50,000 R2 robotaxis. This partnership accelerates our path to Level 4 autonomy and supports our goal of building one of the safest autonomous platforms in the world—across both shared and personally owned vehicles. The combination of Rivian’s rapidly growing data flywheel, our in-house RAP1 inference platform (800 TOPS), and our multi-modal perception stack provides a powerful foundation to scale autonomy quickly and responsibly over the next couple of years.
Rivian@Rivian

A fleet of R2 Robotaxis is coming exclusively to @Uber. ⚡🌿 Today, we announced a partnership to help both companies accelerate their autonomous vehicle plans across 25 cities in the US, Canada and Europe by the end of 2031. rivn.co/uber

Whoever remembers Tesla Autopilot before FSD Beta it was very similar. It wasn’t really good on surface streets, because it was mostly designed for highway use. But you could still usually enable it on streets and it would (mostly) steer, but not turn on navigation nor stop for traffic lights nor signs. This Rivian universal hands-free is very reminiscent of that.

Rivian Universal Hands-Free vs Tesla Self-Driving This was my first time testing Rivian's new Universal Hands-Free, and I was honestly surprised by how it performed. I understand this is their first attempt and it will only improve from here, but truthfully, it is worse than any version of FSD or Autopilot I have ever used. I respect Rivian as a company, but I always try to remain unbiased in my opinions, so here are my unfiltered thoughts on where UHF stands today. Hoping to test it more as the system receives major updates! Hope you all enjoy the video.
