@dburka Between React and Tailwind, I feel like it’s ‘99, and I’m doing inline PHP with HTML 4 and using the style attribute. I kind of love it 👀

The modern use of CSS where you basically inline your styles with specific class names like "padding-12px font-size-24px color-blue" still blows my mind. Is this how everyone does it now? I miss the days of abstracted classes like "sub-nav." Do I just need to embrace the new?

@paulg @asemota Having seen batches of 20 in-person in 2009 and now 400 fully remote + international in 2022, YC has retained its intimacy. It’s all about thoughtfully scaling. Hard but clearly possible, especially with good software.

@asemota People have been saying this since the batch size hit about 30, and it's never been true.

I think the real secret of YC until recently was not to lose this intimacy. I don't know if intimacy is possible anymore with more than a hundred startups in a batch. YC itself needs decentralization.

@garrytan 100%. Employees and members of an organization should be empowered to make a case or a decision and back it up with an organizational value. Ultimately, they are the shepherds of your values and without that, values are just “words hung from a wall.”

I used to think values statements were a hokey corporate thing But now I realize most people just use them wrong. If you put the values on the wall it means when you have a tough decision you know what to do because you said what you stand for.
