Palmer Luckey: โI think the next war fighting domain, before itโs the moon, is the subterranean domainโฆ the United States and the Soviet Union both believed during the Cold War the crust of the earth would turn into a battle spaceโฆ itโs moving along slower then I would likeโ We dropped into a war zone with a 50% baked product just to get people to realize the magnitude of the subterranean opportunity. Modern conflicts are decided in the air. Swarm Aero is building a radically effective way to scale air power. We're proud to share that we've raised $35 million in Series A funding, led by @TwoSigmaVC and @SilentVentures and joined by our seed investors @khoslaventures, @ScribbleVC, @friendsfamcap, @constructcap, @coatuemgmt, @foundersfund, @alumniventures, and @MaCVentureCap! This brings total capital raised to $59M to accelerate the deployment of our large UAV and the swarm software that enables drones to be controlled at scale. While smaller drones pack smaller punches and require assistance to get to the fight, our large, multimission UAV can cover long distances and defeat high-value targets. Designed to manufacture at unprecedented volume and cooperate with superhuman dexterity, our UAV achieves asymmetric impact at dramatically lower cost than traditional aircraft. The future world order depends on who controls air power. Swarm is building the technologies needed for deterrence and dominance in the 21st century. And weโre hiring! The fastest way to expose whether a CEO actually uses their own product: make them do the most basic task on camera. Outlook has over 400 million active users. Microsoftโs productivity segment generated $77.8 billion last year. And the official Microsoft support page for โOutlook search not workingโ tells users to open the Windows Registry Editor and manually create DWORD values. Thatโs the fix. For a product used by almost every Fortune 500 company on Earth. Edit your registry. The reason Outlook search has been broken for years is the same reason it will stay broken: Microsoft sells to IT procurement, not to the person trying to find last Tuesdayโs email. The buyer and the user are completely different people. The CIO signs a 3-year enterprise agreement based on security compliance, Azure integration, and per-seat bundling. Nobody in that purchasing decision opens Outlook and types โQ3 budgetโ into the search bar to see what happens. This is why Gmail search works and Outlook search doesnโt. Google built for the end user first and sold enterprise later. Microsoft built for the enterprise buyer first and shipped whatever search users would tolerate. 345 million paid seats. The switching cost is so high that Microsoft could ship Outlook with no search at all and most companies would renew anyway. Every CEO of an enterprise software company knows this. The product doesnโt need to be good. It needs to be locked in.
