I have health insurance and purposely pay for everything out of pocket. As a result, I wind up paying 80% less for the same service, no waits, no hassle, and I get to go whatever I want without needing to be referred from one doctor to another. If you’re healthy and only go to the doctor for routine checkups - health insurance is such an inflated mess.

You see, we launched a Slack channel in our Hampton community called “Sh*t, I’m F*cked.” It’s about posting times when you said: shit...I'm fucked. - you just lost $10m on a bad trade - you're about to sell for $100m but then Facebook changes the algo and the deal's ruined (like my co-founder Joe Speiser) - you're currently going through it: someone dumped you, you feel crappy. And, in a shocking turn of events, the Hampton community LOVED the channel. It blew up. And that, my dear friend, is why we are hosting an event called Sh*t, I’m F*cked. So, if you want to come laugh and learn about the misery of others and yourself and get your biggest failures off your chest…this is for you. This event is for Hampton members. However, we’re letting a few non-members come. The only requirement is that you love listening to horrible, f*cked up stories (and may be open to sharing your own). Attend at your own risk :). Love to hear why this couldn’t work… — Most healthcare in America is part of a free market, mostly cash for the everyday basics. Prices keep coming down. — Insurance exists for catastrophic (cancer diagnosis, specialty meds, hit by car etc.)

Anyone that retired early, how the hell are you paying for healthcare out of pocket? Any workarounds? I would like to retire early(30s or 40s) but paying out of pocket looks nuts
