@EddieComeaux @UCLALawReview @DrUJayakumar Race neutral is ineffective in helping racial minority groups if admissions are heavily influenced by ALDC. Harvard and other prestigious universities are guilty of implicit biases towards white athletic students. Race equity can be achievable when ALDC is not being implicated.

@jsulbn @TA_ED50 I agree, school admission for minorities is a "dream" and we can thank the impact legacy creates for admission as well as the imperfections of these institutions. There has to equity for students being admitted. #UCR50 @KatryaLy #ucr50

If students aren’t white affluent students, what other factors are needed for them to be admitted into schools? How can we make it equal for all students to be accepted basing it purely off merits and individual accomplishments? #UCR50 @TA_ED50

AxE advantage is exacerbated at prestigious institutions where admissions have higher stakes and huge sports income. It does not elevate non-privileged students, only white students. Is this fair? Can you recognize this behavior in the UC system?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

@jserrano15_ @KatryaLy Hi Janessa, I agree with you! I definitely believe Universities don't have their athletes best interest at heart. Sadly, there are so many controversies and obstacles. Do you think there is anything possible for the NCAA to redeem themselves?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

I feel that universities do not have the best interest at heart when it comes to athletes and athletes on full-ride scholarships. It is such a controversy and it really should not be which makes me feel this way! #UCR50 @KatryaLy

Collegiate institutions can be controlling over their college athletes. Amateurism has a big role in no compensation, social media, and scholarships. DO you think athletes are being restricted? #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@MSauce024 @KatryaLy Hi Maria, you make a great point! It is unfortunate that even with Title IX women discrimination and inequality is still present. Do you think this falls entirely on the fault of Title IX?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

The inequality within intercollegiate sports and life in general is very obvious. Even with Title IX, the scales are tipped in favor of male athletes. Giving them bigger chances of success, while women get left behind. Should Title IX be rectified?@KatryaLy #UCR50

Title IX implemented to seek gender equality in federally funded educational programs. However, in the 40 years of Title IX being present it has not eliminated sex discrimination. How are collegiate sports affected by sex discrimination? #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@jserrano15_ @KatryaLy Hi Janessa, excellent point about the importance of inclusivity. It's important that student-athletes are surrounded by an inclusive community. How do you think athletic departments can do a better job when hiring people from different backgrounds?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

If colleges coaches are such a huge part of their athletes success, why is race a huge problem when choosing them? Athletes should be able to advocate for their own have someone they feel comfortable with, coaches of color matter! @KatryaLy #UCR50

Women are underrepresented in athletics. Trying to succeed in a male dominated industry is difficult when sexism and "Model Minority" is present. How can universities help diversify and support athletic staff?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

@GigiDuarte_7 @KatryaLy Gigi I liked how you included the "dumb jock" narrative. I agree with your statement. It is disappointing to see college athletes being held to a low standard. How do you think this narrative can stop in college? #UCR50 @KatryaLy

This painted narrative of “dumb jock” is old. Athletes already have a biased stigma because they’re undermined by academic performance from professors. Professors shouldn’t treat a student any less, the issue should be pressed with coaches/dean, not students. #UCR50

Professors have curriculum or policies that can create barriers for collegiate athletes. Why is there a created stigma regarding the intelligence of college athletes? Certain perceptions are harmful to students. #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@RCorona032 @TA_ED50 Hi Rosario, I also read about student athlete expectations. Student athletes have rigiourous schedules that can be demanding. Do you think they get enough recognition for their hard work? #EDU50 @KatryaLy

Not only do student athletes have to manage being a student and an athlete. Most of them have to meet a certain criteria prior to becoming an athlete. In High school they have to have a GPA of a 2.5 or higher and if they don't they better score a 820 on their SAT. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

@gomezzkg @KatryaLy Kassandra I can totally agree with your statement. We know financially student athletes are not compensated. Although, Universities receive large sums of revenue from collegiate sports, do you think no compensation is fair? #UCR50 @KatryaLy

College athletes do not recieve a share nor are compensated from the profit of their labor. While universities make millions of dollars from collegiate sports, student athletes are struggling to make ends meet. Should students be paid?#UCR50 @KatryaLy

@viveanbonales @KatryaLy Vivean I agree with your statement. Sports entertainment is definitely prioritized more than education. The pay difference is unacceptable and very disappointing. How can we move forward from this? #UCR50 @KatryaLy

if college professors teach higher education and are not awarded with more than college sport coaches, why is that fair? the athletes do more work than the coaches but they often have no reward other than stats. #UCR50 @KatryaLy

@vrodr096 @KatryaLy My perspective is a little different according to CH.10, it mentions how the UA's always operate based on the welfare and performance of all units. Although, it might seem that athletics are the priority lets not forget that a lot of AD get shut down.#UCR50 @KatryaLy

Why are athletics the priority? Shouldn't everyone be getting an equal pay. It is not fair for faculty to be getting less money than the athletic department. Both should have the same funding since they both bring good things to the table. #ucr50 @KatryaLy

The difference in annual salaries between college basketball/ football coaches and professors is absolutely outrageous. Why is a service of entertainment more important then education? Why are these coaches' salaries almost as equal as NFL? #UCR50 @KatryaLy
