@NutritionMadeS3 2821 events occurred in LOW group out of 6528 events. This means 43% pf events were in the low group. But the low group consisted of 141979 people. So only 2% of of this group (with risk < 5%) had MIs. This is a numbers game where the calculator is doing very well at ind level.

Actual quotes from President Trump: Trump’s “victory timeline” claims. Mar 3: "We won the war." Mar 7: "We defeated Iran." Mar 9: "We must attack Iran." Mar 9: "The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully. March 10: practically nothing left to target Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.” Mar 12: "We did win, but we haven't won completely yet." Mar 13: "We won the war." Mar 14: "Please help us." Mar 15: "If you don't help us, I will certainly remember it." Mar 16: "Actually, we don't need any help at all." Mar 16: "I was just testing to see who's listening to me." Mar 16: "If NATO doesn't help, they will suffer something very bad." Mar 17: "We neither need nor want NATO's help." Mar 17: "I don't need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO." Mar 18: "Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 19: "US allies need to get a grip - step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 20: "NATO are cowards." Mar 21: "The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don't use it, we don't need to open it." Mar 22: "This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait" Mar 22: "Iran is Dead" Mar 23: "We had very good and productive talks with Iran." Mar 24: "We’re making progress." Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.” Mar 26: "Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away." Mar 27: "We don’t have to be there for NATO." Mar 28: No major quote Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing Mar 30: "Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences." The risk calculators severely underestimate risk. They are designed to keep more patients off medicine. As cardiologists, we see the reality. The calculators and guidelines take many years to catch up to the science. If your LDL-C is over 60, you are probably building plaque. That's why we want be super low. My LDL-C is 41 on crestor and zetia. And I would like to keep it that way. I would rather never have calcium, never have a stroke, never have a heart attack, never have any of these things. Do it now before it becomes irreversible! 💪🏻🫀🩺

@drpablocorral @ApoDudz @MichaelAlbertMD @DrMauinforma @mmamas1973 Hi doc. Did you calculate your ASCVD risk before making this decision? I’m a bit confused over all the doctors aiming at such low levels of LDL w/ no context of them being high risk patients. Thanks!

This is bull shit. There has been no surge since 2021. There is no data anywhere on the planet that shows any such surge. Just because you want to imagine it in your conspiratorial brain doesn't make it true. You are welcome to your own opinions, but not your own facts.
Bret Weinstein@BretWeinstein

You’re lying, either to yourself, to us, or both. Many things cause cancer. The introduction of the mRNA shots in 2021 unleashed an unprecedented wave. You and other doctors need to come clean. People have an absolute right to know what was done to them. Remember your oath.

@jsm2334 @DiedSuddenly_ My worry is that social and mainstream media coverage of this issues is going to cause needless anxiety. The absolute risk of this cancer under 50 remains far below 1%, yet I suspect that we're about to see a social panic induced increase in needless colonoscopies.

No it is terribly tragic This trend of increasing colorectal cancer in young and middle age adults over the past 25-30 years is one of the most disturbing and perplexing dynamics in cancer epidemiology — as cancer deaths decrease across the board with more early detection and better treatments for many cancers and in some cases, dramatic breakthroughs leading to some cures, this stands out like a sore thumb — and something must be going on to drive such a phenomenon. I have two close friends, fellow volleyball dads, succumb to early gastrointestinal cancers about 10 years ago while our girls were on the same team so has hit me personally. Many of us cancer researchers have been studying the problem to characterize the molecular and clinical characteristics to better treat it and better understand its etiology (one highly cited paper I worked on almost 20 years ago is here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30854646/) And studies of societal and environmental and lifestyle changes over the past few decades need continuous evaluation and rigorous study — to see if we can identify some key, hopefully modifiable, risk factors so we can prevent and decrease incidence of this devastating disease. Of course, I understand that some people with single minded agendas will try to distort these trends to try to insinuate that their favorite cause of all bad things in the past five years is also causing this trend (as you do in this account), even if it makes no sense since the trend predated their favorite bogeyman by decades, but in spite of this ghoulish unscientific behavior, this is a real problem and one that requires real, objective scientific inquiry.

Died Suddenly
Died Suddenly@DiedSuddenly_·
No, it’not normal to die in your 40’s of colorectal cancer. Let’s hear the rest of the story the media wont tell you. James Van Der Beek, best known for his role as Dawson Leery on the late 1990s/early 2000s teen drama Dawson's Creek passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 48. He died peacefully after a battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer (also called colon or bowel cancer). His family announced his death via an Instagram post from his account, stating: > "Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace." The diagnosis came in August 2023 (at age 46), though he publicly revealed it in November 2024. He underwent treatments including surgery and chemotherapy. Now, here is where it gets intereresting. James Van Der Beek was a member of the actors' union, specifically SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), which is the primary labor union representing actors in film, television, and related media in the United States. During the height of the pandemic (primarily from around mid-2021 through early 2023), SAG-AFTRA negotiated and agreed to industry-wide COVID-19 safety protocols (known as the Return to Work Agreement). These protocols explicitly allowed producers and employers (e.g., studios, production companies) to implement mandatory vaccination policies as a condition of employment on set or for specific productions. So yes. He was forced to get it. James Van Der Beek was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer on August 31, 2023

@BenShapiroShow Is it a scorcher on the Trump racist tweet? Or how the Epstein files did have a list of men (which you said it didn't)? Oh wait....just checking....you're pivoting to a criticism of the halftime show and touting Trump's environmental acumen. Way to stand by those moral principals

@fmfclips Supplements reduce risk by how much? Really wish stats like effect sizes and absolute risk reduction were supplied for these types of claims. Are people taking these things daily for life for 1%, 10%, 30% improvement....?

Lutein and zeaxanthin directly support both vision and cognition in ways we can measure Clinical trials show that supplementing them (often via a multivitamin) reduces risk of age-related macular degeneration and protects retinal function Other studies demonstrate that these carotenoids build up in the brain and improve cognitive performance across age groups Kale and other dark leafy greens are rich sources, but choosing a multivitamin that includes lutein and zeaxanthin ensures you get meaningful amounts every day

@The_Astral_ Nothing will happen in the Spring or Fall. The degree to which this family makes claims without any sense of self-doubt is a red flag to me. Another is the ambiguity of the prediction - as another commenter noted, how will we know what new knowledge is? I'm not holding my breathe
