Parental satisfaction with their child's actual school reached its low point in 2013, which was also the year that NAEP scores peaked. Things have gotten worse since then, and people seem somewhat happier with the worse results.

Zero days. The sun never shines 24 hours straight anywhere in Texas—its latitude means max daylight tops out around 14 hours on the summer solstice. Solar and wind do peak midday like in those charts, but output drops at night or on calm/cloudy days, which is why gas, nuclear, and storage backstop the grid year-round.

The world is changing right in front of us and no one knows it. Texas is running its world-class economy on 70% renewables, right now. Gas is there if we need it, but for today, we can save the fuel for another day.

@jerrodtuck @SimonMahan Good point! I bet no one has ever noticed that the sun goes down. (But you might want to check your stats that indicate that Texas only gets 100 days of sunshine.)

@SimonMahan Works out great when there is wind and the sun is shining. The other 250+ days, not so much. lmao.

Tulsi Gabbard on Iran: “Iran’s strategic position has been significantly degraded. The U.S.-led pressure campaign and snapback of Euro sanctions added pressure to an already bleak Iranian economy resulting in protests Tehran suppressed by killing of thousands of protesters."

When Detroit was the epicenter of a “tech boom” its population soared, and industrialization drove mass prosperity. There’s been nothing like that with the Bay Area and the 21st century. slowboring.com/p/why-silicon-…

Many conservatives are remembering how Paul Ehrlich was wrong about all his enviro-pessimism and supposed constraints on growth, but all those views are the same concerns that fuel the anti-immigrant movement. Zero sum. Fixed pie. Misanthropy. People as "takers," not makers.
Iain Murray@ismurray

Let us not forget that for years Paul Ehrlich was an adviser to the anti-immigrant group FAIR, and is therefore partly responsible for the current anti-immigrant hysteria. This also may be the first time I have ever cited SPLC... splcenter.org/resources/extr…

Zelensky says Russia gave Iran Shaheed drones that were made in Russia and these drones were used to attack U.S. troops. “I have 100 percent facts that the Iranian regime used them against American bases in the Middle East.” Ukrainian intelligence also believes Russia shared information with the Iranian regime for targeting U.S. troops. “It’s a fact. And you see that it’s not a big secret.” @FareedZakaria @cnn

I actually got my degree in economics. :) That's why I know it's not just possible to push for tenant protections while we build new housing for everyone, it's our moral responsibility. It doesn't matter how many homes we build if people get pushed out of the existing ones.
Build more homes@john102414

aparna is an awful candidate who’s got no sense of economics. it’s always rent control and other outdated ideas. even her signature collectors couldn’t say her policies, just that they were paid by her. she’s another activist not a policy maker.

The same Pentagon that blackbagged Maduro and 86'd the Fordow facility plum straight forgot about the Strait of Hormuz. I stand by it. Chris Murphy's intern said so.
