@TotherAlistair People and interactions are the most important, but it’s prefer to talk about tools, gen ai, methods, frameworks.

Here's an idea -- people are complaining how Pull Requests are creating unpredictable wait times & are impacting value stream delivery, so why don't we switch to pre-approved Pull Requests? That way, no wait times, no begging team members to review our PRs. Cut the charade!

Genius Group welcomes new Chief AI Officer, Alan Turing - resurrected after 70 years. I believe $GNS is the 1st US public listed company to appoint an #AI to its C-Suite (Although @elonmusk at @Tesla may be part-AI already). Will all companies have AIs on their Board & Exec teams in the coming years? Alan's first white paper "Preparing for a Post Turing Test World" is a mindblowing read with his new 'Super Turing Test' for AGI. You can read it and chat to Alan AI here: geniusteam.ai/alan/ and @AlanTuring_AI #AI #AIRevolution #GeniusGroup #AlanTuring #MagnificentSeven $TSLA $META $NVDA $MSFT $AAPL $GOOGL $AMZN

“Duplicated code is often better than wrong abstraction.” “Excessive copy/paste bloats the code, hurts consistency, slows reading, increases bug risks, and makes it harder to scale.” Both are true. So, avoid copy/paste. But also avoid premature abstractions. It’s a balance.

@housecor Bad design can be done on fullstacks and backend/frontend. You just need to see the root.

Sometimes the divide between the backend and frontend leads to massive waste. Example: I'm looking at a web page that displays 6 numbers. Sounds simple. But, here's how it gets the 6 numbers: It requests an array of 1.2MB (75,000+ lines!) of JSON. 🤯The client iterates over this giant array to generate 6 numbers. Why? Because these 6 numbers are totals, and there's no endpoint that provides the totals. So the UI developer is fetching 1,000's of rows...to display 6 numbers. 🤮 The solution is simple: Create an endpoint that creates the totals on the server and returns the 6 totals.
