Yes! Pedro is a massive asset to the community. He was invaluable in helping me 3D model the art galleries for Bitcoin Atlantis and @AdoptingBTC El Salvador (both 2024 events). He also has a really cool Anatomy of Bitcoin project that is quite amazing. Recommended follow. Oh and bro - use paragraphs and spaces!

One conversation from the Vegas conference that I continue to think about was with a guy called Pedro (@pedromvpg) who works for BTC Inc and organizes the Open Source area. He actually also manages all of the dynamic digital signage at the event, and even though I'm not always crazy about the selected presenters or topics, the signage around the conference always looks 100% amazing. Pedro shared a lot more context on his vision for the Open Source area and how important it is to him. FOSS isn't always at the top of the conference organizers' priority list but Pedro continues to push to keep it visible and a part of the larger conversation. He actually thanked me for coming and having the SeedSigner table there. I do sell signers, but after you consider flights, hotel, meals, my time and other expenses, going to exhibit in the FOSS area is more of a labor of love than it is any kind of personal money-maker for me; getting to meet and talk to SeedSigner users and bitcoiners at large is the real reward. But it was the first time anyone from the event has thanked me for the work I'd put in to be there, and it may seem like a little thing but it meant a lot. I still feel as though FOSS was pushed a bit off to the side, and I'd love to personally have been in an area with more foot traffic, but without Pedro there may not have even been an Open Source area to begin with. So even though we all lament all of the frustrating things about the conference, it's important to remember that there are real bitcoiners on the inside trying to keep some focus on the important stuff.

One of the coolest things this year at @TheBitcoinConf was seeing the hunger people have for hands on education and personal responsibility. Our team with @theBTCmentor was a little tucked away in the open source area, but people found us, flooded in, filled the seats, lined the walls, and sat on the floor. They learned cold storage, privacy, multisig, and so much more. Remember, just because the suits and feds are here, doesn't mean the self sovereign bitcoiners have gone away. Looking forward to doing this again.
