@jvb_xyz This is the core problem: ETH is neither a commodity nor a security; it’s a new economic primitive. Forcing it into legacy buckets makes the math look insane in both directions.

Just because the CFTC calls ETH a commodity doesn’t mean you should value it like one. Run the numbers yourself: ETH supply vs. daily gas demand is wildly unbalanced. On a pure commodity model, it screens close to zero. On a security model, you can at least anchor to price-to-sales, since ETH is effectively a DAO selling blockspace. Reality is somewhere in between - but neither framework gets you anywhere near a $300b+ valuation. If you rely on a regulator to decide on your valuation model, you’ll lose your stack pretty quickly.

The L2 play is absolutely genius - people will study it in history books as one of the most successful strategic moves in Ethereum’s evolution. It allows the entire world to build their own configurable blockspace on top of Ethereum, tailored to their specific needs. This creates infinite room for experimentation and new products. And this architecture will outgrow everything else, because it’s the most flexible way to cover all possible use cases - giving builders the freedom to build whatever they want on the most robust, decentralized, and censorship-resistant platform in the world. 🫳🎤

Still blows my mind that we can buy $ETH below its 2021 ATH… Since then, we now have: • Reduced annual inflation by a few percent (averaging 0.165% per year since the merge to PoS) • 35.7 million ETH staked • ETFs + DATs buying over 1% of the ETH supply each month (strategicethreserve.xyz) • A handful of very successful rollups, already among the most active chains in the entire crypto ecosystem, settling on Ethereum using ETH • Hundreds of ecosystem TPS on average, with regular peaks above 2k TPS (Fusaka will enable us to increase this capacity by at least 8x starting in December) • ZK Rollup tech with thousands of TPS throughput capacity (@zksync @Starknet) • Some of the most advanced privacy tech in the industry with Noir and @aztecnetwork among many others • Institutional adoption from Robinhood, Alibaba, BlackRock, Deutsche Bank, UBS, etc., all building on top of Ethereum (ethereumadoption.com/built-on-ether…) • Billions of dollars in RWAs being issued primarily on Ethereum and its L2s, including an overwhelming market share in stablecoins • ZKVMs getting ready for adoption by Ethereum Mainnet, with real-time proving times breaking records every other week (this will enable us to scale L1 to 10k TPS) • Many more exciting things I’ve forgotten to add here… Ethereum is winning on so many levels that it honestly can be a bit overwhelming at times. Once $ETH finally breaks above $5K, everyone will start saying it was obvious. And let me tell you… it is. The ticker is $ETH.

ok, but here's the thing. for treasuries when we say real yield we mean nominal yield adjusted for consumer-price inflation (purchasing power) we DO NOT mean adjusted for the quantity of money. so real yield = real yield in purchasing power that's what all of tradfi thinks when we say real yield. But we're saying something more with ETH. in ETH context real yield means = real yield in ACTUAL money supply, not purchasing power - real yield in actual units of underlying supply to get the equivalent in treasuries, you'd have to show real yield adjusted for M0 and M1 or something - these are things tradfi barely pays attention to, because they don't think in terms of hard money but that's the yield ETH is giving you - it's real yield in a HARD money.

I can't wait for SOL to flip ETH and crush Tom Lee's dreams.

Agree w/ the duck, but don't forget that the premiums will one day collapse to discounts, as the corporate treasury structures are an imperfect vessel to hold $BTC (just like GBTC 1.0) - a bubble is amazing, but not sustainable.

I often see Ethereans saying “ETH is the next BTC”, & while maybe positive for short term trading, the underlying idea is not good for Ethereum long term You don’t see Solana saying “SOL is the next ETH” or Hyperliquid saying “HYPE is the next SOL” Build a unique identity
