@r2junot @CentralParkNYC I've had luck with a hav a hart trap (home depot) baited with something hot, like bacon or chicken nuggets. Also sprinkle liquid smoke, available in condiment section of market, from tree to trap. Thanks to all helping for their kindness.

Cat immediately began to crawl slowly toward this pine. The goal of arborist ops was to get the cat down from the tree - they realistically did not expect to be able to contain. Their mission accomplished

🚨 Cat now sitting out on branch. Exhausted & in danger of falling or predation. Low enough to rescue with ladder. About to walk 3 min to the CP ranger corps office.
