Install of the turbine end bearing, thermal fit tolerance required the shaft to be a little bit chilly❄️

Another day, another Zenith engine hot fire... Here we conduct a chirp test of our thrust vector control system - gimbaling the engine at increasing frequency to demonstrate control bandwidth (how fast we can respond to commands in flight). 📈

Turbopump update! 90% of the parts are done, and the test stand is coming along. The turbine outlet duct finished machining marking the last large part to be made. Side quests included a dynamic balancing machine, and finally getting my custom ADC working.

The structure for aligning between the pump volute casing and the bearing cover looks so cool.
Is there any secondary flow for recirculating bearing coolant?

I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t a brutal ending, but rockets are indeed really hard. The team worked like hell. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the chance to work on this rocket for the past 3 years and along side such amazing Individuals. Onwards and upwards🚀

The team worked extremely hard this weekend to overcome a few final issues. Unfortunately during our third launch attempt of the weekend we experienced an anomaly on the pad at the end of our launch window. In order to safe the vehicle in that moment, the team was forced to leave it in an unrepairable state which unfortunately marks the end of CraterMaker Special. This campaign was a long haul and the team pushed relentlessly to get to Mojave and through operations. We learned a tremendous amount through the process, and those lessons will be applied to future endeavors as we shift focus to new efforts. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. This is only the beginning. Go PSP 🚀
